Anyone elso on MMT have problems sleeping

So im on MMT (methadone treatment). And i wake up multiple times through the night. Usually 7+, and i also constantly have crazy wierd dreams. Its not the same as like when your going through withdrawl and not able to sleep. Im tired as hell the whole time and have no problem falling asleep it just staying asleep that troubles me. I was wondering if anyone else had similar experiences. This takes its toll on me cause i dont really get any REM sleep and im always tired and taking naps during the day.

AW: Anyone elso on MMT have problems sleeping

Always when swim "was" on Opioids he can`t sleep.
If swiny use the serach engine he will discover that all Mu-Opioids
disturb the Architektur of Sleep.
There are some main Reasons but my Englisch is not so good,
so please try something like Google.
Swim guess swiny`s Benefit will be much higher

In Swim`s Opinion this Sleep Disorder is one of the Main Reasons why so many People in the MMT get a Alcohol and / or Benzoproblem.
Because no deep Sleep really sucks and after a few Month
you start to make Mistakes in your Main-Decision!

Swim made very good experience with Akupunktur,
maybe swiny try

swim's on 30ml methadone script and his sleep patterns are hectic at best. it seems to make you very lethargic during the day as well- especially after dosing. does anyone else find that?

Re: Anyone elso on MMT have problems sleeping

A low dose of 10mg or less of the anti-depressant Mirtazapine (Remeron) can be very helpful with sleep problems associated with methadone. It provides a safe sedating effect that aids in achieving deep sleep but rarely carries over to the next day. Remeron also has a low occurrence of some of the semi conscious side effects or possible black outs that are associated with methadone and Rx sleep aids such as Ambian or Lunesta. And of course, benzo's should never be used as a sleep aid while on methadone. Ones MMT doctor should be able to prescribe Remeron for sleep use or provide an alternative measure.
