swim used to call her drug addicted self "mildred". lol.

to add a bit of light humour to your recovery, come up with a name for your evil twin.


swim knows it can be hard to live with yourself and what you do sometimes, so it can be helpful to separate the two personalities in your frame of mind.

LOL is it sad the first name that came to my head Tom Cruise. ha. Dude is crazy. My name would have to be James or something smooth, whenever i was high I felt smooth at ease....then when things got bad I sure My ego would have been something completely disgusting, diseased.

Back in the day, Red Rock's used to be chill will or icycold. I don't remember where the icy cold came from but the chill will came out of Red Rock just chillin all the time while high on heroin. Also, when drinking, Red Rock would be very mellow and laid back and someone used to come him chill will when he was at parties and shit.

Daves always been known as Roc or Radrock,madrok,rokman,so If he changed it now who knows.Its an old army name,he was fortunate enough to be a good boxer,and when he would knock his opponent out every one would yell"you fucking rock man",the name stuck.Thats his handle with everyone but his wife,so I guess its Daves junkie name also.

My other self is called Maximilian (in honour of and in reference to Maximilian Kolbe - the patron saint of drug-addicts). I'm not religious but I do like the way those Catholics have saints for everything.

Actually, i'm a bit of a day-dreamer and I quite often make up characters and storylines in my head. I can pass a whole day just sitting in an easy-chair, with music on, playing out little stories in my head. A recurring character is a teenage girl who in some respects I admire (she's pretty, confident, streetwise, tough, etc), but she is also very troubled (orphaned at the age of 10 from her abusive alcoholic father, has a drug-problem with crack and heroin and lengthy criminal rapsheet already). Her name is Katy McKagan (don't ask me why, it just is and has always been!) and her nickname (which she hates) is 'Kit' Mckagan (the 'Kit' is short for 'drug-kit' cos she used to always carry a pouch around with the necessary paraphenalia in it).
I don't know why I daydream as much as I do and I don't know why I have this character or these story-lines in my head. (Is anyone else this weird?!) But I'm pretty sure that i've always been like this.
Coincidentally, when SWIM first began using opiates one of the main attractions to those kinds of drug was that it enhanced her daydreaming ability(!), SWIM would lose herself for hours in her own constructed make-believe worlds. Then, the thing SWIM hated or hates most about opiate addiction is that there always comes a point when the drug completely takes away your ability to your dream. It's a strange set of circumstances that's for sure ....

That's funny, because I'm actually a lot like that, however my characters and stories change all of the time.. I could seriously daydream for hours and write for just as long about all of the make-believe people and situations that I've come up with.. As far as using opiates (which I'm not sure if that's different from opioids?) SWIM noticed that the daydreaming and writing turns out a LOT better while using.. But SWIM no longer has her great, amazing dreams, or at least not that she can remember. That really does stink doesn't it...?
