Drug info - How does Temazepam compare to other benzos?

SWIM has tried each of the big 4 when it comes to benzos.

lorazopam
diazopam
alprazolam
clonazopam

but SWIM hears much chatter about temazepam....as being fun and even somewhat euphoric. I know it's a hypnotic benzo primarily used for sleep and not anxiety....i also know its one of the main metabolites of valium

if SWIM had to compare it to one of the above 4 which would it be?

only a rather small amount of diazepam is metabolized into temazepam.
tt is an excessive BD user, trying to stop at the moment. he knows most BD
that are on the market in western europe, also temazepam. as in germany
it had never the reputation on the streets drug scene as in the UK, we still
have the gel-caps available here. (no pm's please about exchanging stuff, thanks)

to be honest: tt doesn't like this benzo. in 199x he shot 40 mg from
capsules a few times and was disappointed. he just got tired
(to be expected after consuming a hypnotic substance), but tt felt very
uncomfortable with temazepam when waking up for a few minutes, also
feeling the effects starting after oral consumption made tt feel "weird"

tt's own tapering off BDs at the moment made him need a hypnotic in the
beginning, when switching from a daily dosage of ~ 8 mg alprazolam over
the day and up to 15 mg lorazepam in the night to the rather "smooth"
clonazepam. tt tried temazepam as a hypnotic, for someone with high BD
tolerance tt thinks that substance is a joke. tt took 100 mg, that didn't
help him falling asleep, so he did 80 mg more. as tt had the 20 mg capsules
that was nearly one blister of ten pills. sleep was induced within 90 minu-
tes or 2 hours, tt remembers that he dreamed lots of wicked stuff and
woke up several times during the night. still had this uncomfortable feeling
of being under the influence of a strange substance in the morning after.
so tt spent ~14.- €uro for sleeping 2 nights. he then switched to broti-
zolam, with that stuff 20 pills helped him 4 - 5 nights, having a really good
all night sleep.


well, tt knows that especially in the UK, but also in the US, many people
like temazepam, be it as a sleeping aid, for recreational use or the
dangerous heroin plus temazepam-gel "cocktail" taken intravenously. bad
idea to shoot it!

so wait for the answers of those benzo-freaks who like temazepam, every-
body has his favourites. i just wanted to input tt's own bad experience
with that drug, using it and abusing it - it both was not as expected, more
than this it had a bit of a bad experience.

by the way: if you take a lower dose that won't make you sleep, then it
might show anxiolytic effects, too.

SWIM got 30x 30mg temazepam capsules (very little powder inside, for... you know.. purposes). He prefers his script of alprazolam 4mg/day

oh, tt forgot to answer this one. tt would say "diazepam and feeling some
bad mood on it"
