Is this marijuana withdrawal SWIM is experiencing

Hi.

Swim started smoking weed for about 2 months, every day now. He mostly gets quality bud, very potent. SWIM realised that the only thing he is doing is being stoned, and not being productive and not doing things he used to do. SWIM quit for a day and came right back in. This time SWIM quit again but is experiencing what he believes are severe marijuana withdrawals. SWIM cannot eat at all. Thinking of food will make SWIM vomit. Complete loss of appetite. Swim also feels slight pain in the abdomen region, also feels like throwing up. It's been 2 days, and SWIM hasn't smoked. He had the money, the opportunity to buy it last night but he didn't. How long will this last ? What can SWIM do to feel better ?

Thanks

Re: Is this marijuana withdrawal SWIM is experiencing

The chemicals in Cannabis are known to stimulate the appetite, reduce nausea and decrease/eliminate abdominal pain and cramps. It may be that the Cannabis use was simply covering these symptoms up.

It may be, the body just needs to re-adjust.

If the symptoms get worse or persist for more than 24-48 hours swim should consult a doctor, the doctor may even prescribe Cannabis and depending on the cause of the symptoms an antibiotic if necessary. In the mean time, stay hydrated and try to eat some soup and other such light foods.

If in swims shoes, Billy Smarts would just smoke a tiny bit of Cannabis for symptomatic relief and taper use to re-adjust. He would say to himself, it's probably just a tummy bug.

Re: Is this marijuana withdrawal SWIM is experiencing

Yes sir that would be your typical marijuana withdrawal. Swim tried to quit one time and lasted a couple weeks facing similar withdrawals. Reduced appetite, insomnia, minor depression and irritability. Swim has been a smoker for over 4 years now daily and knows where you're coming from even though i would never call marijuana withdrawals severe in any case, just because having experienced withdrawals from other substances. However in answer to your question through research, your withdrawal symptoms are at its peak at the 3 day mark and after 3 weeks are noticeably beginning to tail off. So if you're serious about quitting pot than hold in there because things will get better quickly especially since you're a relatively new user.

good luck

Re: Is this marijuana withdrawal SWIM is experiencing

Three weeks? I don't know what kind of marijuana you guys smoke but anytime SWIM goes without weed the so-called withdrawal only lasts 24 hours, period. It usually involves one restless night. Psychologically of course, ending a daily habit is noticeable but this psychological aspect shouldn't be confused with the physiological side of things. Any case for a true marijuana withdrawal might do with immune system regulation where use is so heavy that the immune system might be temporarily weakened when you suddenly cease use. You might also be able to make a case for people who use marijuana as a painkiller. Aches and pains will return if you stop using. I tend to agree with Sky Walker. This is probably just an upset stomach.

Re: Is this marijuana withdrawal SWIM is experiencing

Nature boy you obviously don't smoke that much weed or the stuff you get is low quality because I know many people who have a hard time quitting weed because of the withdrawals. BC Canada also has some of the best bud in the world so that could be it. If you're a true pothead then you're going to be fiending out for more than just one day after going without it after frequent daily use.

Just because your experience differs does not mean that the poster smokes less bud or lower quality bud. Your post comes...

This post is just full of crap, I'm sorry but it is, none of it is backed up by any evidence whatsoever, just anecdotal ...

Fiending out for 3 weeks on marijuana ? 3 - 4 days max. Must be laced in meth or pcp if swiy is "fiending" aft...

After consulting SWIM, you do make a point. The guy doesn't smoke a lot of weed. He used to but the habit tapers down after smoking for a few years. Usually SWIM wouldn't smoke more than three joints a day. Still though, even during his heaviest phase of use, it was never some sort of soul-crippling weakness he couldn't shake off after a day or two. Tolerance and experience are factors too.

Re: Is this marijuana withdrawal SWIM is experiencing

redbarron, what applies to one person does not necessarily apply to another. in my buddy pierre's 10 years of marijuana experience, most significant withdrawal effects have significantly diminished by the 3rd or 4th day of marijuana abstinence. he says that marijuana withdrawals are really not that bad to him. some irritability, insomnia, and minor appetite loss are typical, even after months of considerable daily use of high quality bud. he says it's never fun to quit using something he likes so much, and perhaps that is the biggest factor in his ongoing decision to consume marijuana.

Re: Is this marijuana withdrawal SWIM is experiencing

swim has never experienced any withdrawals from marijuana.... swim was even smoking around 14grams everyday for about a year, stopped for 3 months and felt perfect..... the only thing he noticed was having a little trouble falling asleep but it passed after about 2 or 3 days...... to me, the marijuana withdrawal swiy is describing sounds like a bug going around..... maybe marijuana withdrawal is real, everyone's body responds different to drugs

Re: Is this marijuana withdrawal SWIM is experiencing

^ someone111 you smoked 14 grams a day ?

anyways, to update you all SWIMMERS, SWIM has stopped smoking marijuana 12 days ago. First 3-4 days were absolute HELL. Loss of appetite, weight loss, extreme irritability, anger, mood swings, sweats, over-all shitty feeling. SWIM feels so much better today. 12 days clean the only present effect is the insomnia which I hope will pass soon. Other than that SWIM feels excellent.

SWIM realized he has an addictive personality and he cannot do any drugs. SWIM was a hardcore cocaine user for a year and managed to quit that cold turkey. Been clean for more than a year now. SWIM now also quits Marijuana. Strong will-power will overcome anything.

SWIM is really proud of himself.

Thanks.

Re: Is this marijuana withdrawal SWIM is experiencing

the "withdrawl" is just the body getting back in it's original state. The extra chemicals on a regular basis leave the body to adapt with it, wether they be good or bad. suddenly cuttin out these chems leaves the body confused, aka w.d.

Ah, I love reading about how "rough" potheads have it, especially comming from the opiate forum.
