Effects - Recreational use of Vyvanse

SWIM wants to know if there is recreational potential in using vyvanse or does SWIM HAVE to buy trypsin and remove the l-lysine before consumption to have real fun with vyvanse?

Would you care to explain that reaction a bit more? It is most intriguing.

It's got 50% of the bioavalibility compared to normal adderall. It requires twice the dose for similar effects* and can't be snorted. At the same time it does have a much smoother curve and less pronounced negative effects, even in larger doses. Depending on how one defines "fun" this drug does have some promise. High dose users are probably going to be disappointed, but why not try it out what the loss?

Would you care to share the patients pertinent vital signs?


*In no way does this suggest doubling doses above those described in the official literature. If the patient has a high tolerance and regularly takes 100+mg a day, it would be wise not to immeadiately take 200mg of vyvanse, side effects haven't be well explored at those levels.

i believe swim is 6 feet tall and about 175 pounds and has a script for 60 mg of vyvanse. swim has also never taken meds before except for a daily dose of 20mg paxil

ok swim normally takes 60 mg a day...

He took two pills for a total of 120 mg at about 11:30 PM. Was sortof drunk when he took them. He didn't seem to be getting anything from the vyvanse... but in retrospect he realizes he sobered up really really quickly and he guesses it's from the vyvanse. He had a few hours of being able to converse with anyone about anything and just chillin. He's starting "crashing" (subtly) at about 6:30 AM.

Dunno... Swim doesn't think vyvanse is very good for recreational use. He'll try separating the l-lysine caps from the vyvanse before consumption and see how that goes.

Swim takes 70 mg daily in the morning. He has had many many experiments with 140 and 210, He would say that 210 is a really fun amphetamine rush, but he prefers 70 and 140 on occasion.

210 doesn't let SWIM sleep till early morning, on some occasions when he took 210 at 11-1pm he finds himself awake all night and having to take extra amphetamine the next day to compensate.

If you do want to try some doses, make sure you do it EARLY in the morning

-- as SWIM mentioned, he really prefers sticking to his medication schedule, as after he gets in a rhythm he gets much more benefit out of the amphetamine... 2x dose on rare occasion when he plans to do something epic.

ok... it's been less than a week and now SWIM feels basically nothing... It won't even help his ADD.

About removing the lysine caps... L-lysine is cleaved with the enzyme Trypsin, a serine protease. You can buy an abundant amount of trypsin in an enzyme mix called Pancreatin. SWIM bought his at whole foods.

The theory behind all this is that one must replicate the optimal conditions for the trypsin to act it. According to some quick googling... this would be about 98 degrees F and a ph level of about 7.5-8.5. Pour some of the enzymes in, then some of the opened vyvanse and theoretically swiy should get d-dex without the lysine caps. Be sure to eventually boil the mixture before drinking to denature the enzymes... If not, they can break down proteins in your esophogaus and that's not fun.

SWIM was recently given a prescription for Vyvanse (90-20mg caps). SWIM has been prescribed Ritalin for years and gets it from 3 separate doctors every month. Anyway, SWIM was very disappointed with Vyvanses effects. The first reason is because it has a depressant sleepy effect along with the stimulant effect. Second, it can not be snorted due to that Lisdexamfetamine must be digested so that enzymes can convert it to Dextroamphetamine. SWIM has ingested up to 200mg of Vyvanse in one hour and had problems with nausea and feelings of depression. 200mg+ per day of Ritalin is a much preferred option. SWIM is however curious about the trypsin method of preparation spoken of in the first post. Please elaborate on this.

Agreed. However, SWIM is well aware of all the risks that are associated with the substances he chooses to use and in the ways in which he chooses to use them. A good heads up on possible risks though is essential and always appreciated. Well done.
