Following the advice of other posters, SWIM purchased a box of Wawasana tea. He took out a teabag, cut off the top, mixed in about 3/8 of a teaspoon's worth of sodium bicarbonate, and sealed it by licking it. He rolled in up as tightly as possible and stuffed it between his gums and cheek. He was skeptical at first, but after about five minutes his mouth became almost hilariously numb; SWIM was having a blast feeling the gumminess of his mouth with his tongue. (He thinks that even if this were its only effect, it would be worth it; the tea is really pretty cheap, on the order of a quarter per bag.) The bag broke open in SWIM's mouth soon afterward, but SWIM managed to keep all the saliva in his mouth for about 45 minutes while occasionally chewing on what seemed to be the largest concentration of powder. The taste was not exactly pleasant, but it certainly was not vile (*cough*Kratom*cough*

), and the biggest problem was that SWIM's mouth was bulging with saliva towards the end.
SWIM would describe the feeling as a mild but very pleasant lift. SWIM took it at 7:00 PM, around when he usually gets tired; for the next two hours, however, SWIM was wide awake. Not only that, but his motivation and mood definitely improved, and SWIM was not staring cross-eyed and unfocused at his computer monitor as he often does after long periods of time. SWIM did not feel significantly more energetic, hyper, or jittery than usual, merely more focused and alert. (In fact, SWIM actually felt somewhat calm on it.) Coca tea is, in SWIM's view, clearly superior to caffeine in its effects. It is a much better study/work aid, and it has no negative side effects or crashes (except for the really inconvenient method of use...).
SWIM plans on using three teabags next time, which may create an unconscionable amount of mouth bulge. SWIM wants to know what people think about putting just the bicarb’d powder into their mouths, as SWIM would like to swallow the stuff in hopes of prolonging its effects.
