Is this diagnosis of mild seratonin syndrome correct?
hi!
SWIM is prescribed to take 40mg's of ritalin twice a day when needed. However, SWIM has, for the previous 3 days snorted quite a bit. Day one SWIM snorted approx 120mgs in a period of 4-6rhs, day 2: 120-140 in the same period, during Day 3 however, SWIM snorted about 160-1800mgs over 2.5 hrs that is when SWIM became aware of a few things: SWIM KNEW THESE WERE QUITE HIGH DOSES and should have been more cautious but since it has been 3weeks since swim's last dose swim was stupid, swim's heart rate was high and what is more important, something odd began to occur which caused SWIM to stop. Everytime something suprised SWIM, such as a dog barking or a door slaming, or someone calling swims name, swims head gave a reaction that swim has only related to two things: benzodiazapene withdrawls and the feeling swim feels when he sees young children about to hurt themselves, its an anxious feeling that originates at swims head than pulses through his body similar to an anxiety attack. Since than swim has taken only one 20mg dose of ritalin approx 2hrs ago thinking that this might be the begging signs of seratonin syndrome.
other meds swim is currently using: mirtazapine
meds swim was using during those 3 days: mirtazapine, methylphenidate, oxycodone.
meds swim is prescribed but does not use: paxil
swim was just prescribed the mirtazapine 3 days ago and wonders if this reaction may be a result of the addition of this new medication as well.
What do you think?
