Drug info - are oxy's prescribed in the uk?

swim really wants to try these,
have tried every which way to buy them but pain pills arnt sold round here
do uk doctors prescribe them or is it a american only thing?

It is prescribed but doctors would be very reluctant to give it to a healthy 20 year old. It's usually reserved for cancer patients etc.

Oxycontin are prescribed in the UK, other members from uk talk about having them scripted (no names, coz i'm not sure if naming them counts as sources) but what abrad said is true- generally for cancer patients only. Same applies to all strong narcotics in the UK- among opioids, only co-codamol and remedeine (co dydramol) are normally on offer for most pain while everything strong is reserved for cancer, major surgery, massive injuries (near fatal accident, multiple bone breaks, head trauma etc.), labour pains, renal or biliary colic, crohns disease and major back conditions such as ankylosing spondyltis and RSD.) All narcotics prescribed in the US are available here except hydrocodone and oxymorphone (which is rare even across the pond) and we have dipipanone and diamorphine which they don't.

Not only are they rxed,but now there are fake OCs out there.In fact OC are so rare that unless swim knew the supplier well.......he'd presume he was getting ripped off.
