Body size and dosage?
Swim has read that the effects of adderall and other psychoactive drugs, such as anti-depressants, have nothing to do with body size and weight... Supposedly because these drugs aren't fat soluble and because they focus on chemicals in the brain, body size and dose needed would not be proportional. An example is, a person who is 6' tall and 220 lbs wouldnt neccessarly need a higher dose than someone who is 5' 8" and 150lbs, inorder to feel the same effects of the drug. This makes since to swim... but is it true?

Re: Body size and dosage?
No, a drug's does is based on weight. While there may be minor differences between individuals, a drug's dose is measured by a recommended mg to kg ratio.
It is true that someone larger wouldn't always need a larger does then someone who weighs less because dose can vary individually and there may be tolerance on part of the lighter individual. But for the most part dose is dependent on weight. Both drugs that are fat and water soluble are dosed based on weight. |
