Combinations - Best drug to combine with psychedelics to avoid a bad trip. Benzo's? MDMA? ... ?

Swims had previous experiences with combining various psychedelics with MDMA with very good effects. The MDMA put him in a very positive mindset that kept at bay any negatuive thoughts that could potentially turn a strong psychedelics experience nasty. Swims also been using diazepam and other benzo's recently, and thinks that they would probably work just as well at calming people and avoiding bad trips. Benzo's would probably be a safer drug to combine from a pharmacological point of view than MDMA. Right?

So what have people used sucessfully? What would probably be the best to avoid a bad trip? And what would likely be the safest to combine with most psychedelics?
