What kind of prescription is SWIM eligible for?
Swim had a crazy accident a couple of years ago and broke his hand (scaphoid) badly which took a year to heal and he still doesn't have full mobility on it. The doctors told him he will most likely get arthritis in the future. Swims wondering if he should play the arthritis card and try get a prescription for opiates of some form.
What kind of opiates would the Dr be willing to prescribe for hand arthritis? Swim thinks codeine is the best he'd get. If swim was to keep telling the doctors what they've prescribed is ineffective will they eventually step swim up to something like vicodin? |

Re: What kind of prescription is SWIM eligible for?
Swim doesn't know about the hand..........
If the injury/arthritis renders your arm useless, depending on the doctor?....maybe But arthritis can be treated with non-opiate drugs.......so its a crap shoot And yes most Md's will start at thee bottom of the ladder and be prepared to move up the ladder very slowly..........BUT You might have a doctor that throws Vicodin around like they are skittles candy.......some do,my pharmacist said they call it vitamin V because it is prescribed so much and they leave the bottle on the counter all day instead of locking it up because it gets used so often.......... So talk to the hand .......I mean the hand doctor and see how it pans out..........Good Luck On a side note swim did know a doctor that was a hand specialist and his last name was hand.....true! Re: What kind of prescription is SWIM eligible for?
I agree about the new doctor. As for arthritis most doctor wouldn't prescribe narcotics for arthritis. Anti-inflamatories are the standard course of treatment. You could spend years testing out all the different anti-inflamatories before the doctor would treat with narcotics unless of course you find one who thinks that narcotics are candy and should be handed out like candy. However if you are in real pain that could be dangerous because all of those doctors get busted eventually and then you are addicted, in real pain and can't find a doctor who will treat you because they assume since you saw the doctor who gives out narcotics to addicts that you are an addict as well. One reason I wouldn't want my doctor to hand out scripts to anyone who walks in. The only reason I could see a reasonable doctor prescribing narcotics for arthritis would be a) to control the pain until the anti-inflamatories start to work which means a short term instant release pain med or b) small amounts regularly to control breakthough pain while concurrently taking the anti-inflamatories. The problem with option b) if you aren't really suffering from arthritis is anti-inflamatories are hard on the body and taking them for no good reason would be damaging your body for no good reason. That isn't too smart if you ask me even to get high.
Incidentally if they do prescribe narcotics they are going to start as low as possible with the least powerful drugs and it will take time to work up to a dosage/ drug that you want recreationally. In addition since a mild narcotic with an anti-inflamatory is usually plenty for a real case of arthritis they will quickly think you are just an addict trying to get high. Which means they will either cut you off or they fall into the catergory of doctor that eventually lose their license which puts you in the above mentioned situation. This is your call but I wouldn't think it worth it. Best of luck trannyboy |

Not worth the hassle by the sounds of it. It'd probably cost swim as much street heroin anyway so going that route would be ridiculous.

Re: What kind of prescription is SWIM eligible for?
Co-codamol 30/500 is the absolute max unless you can find a narcotic specialist doctor by asking around other people who get RX'd opies. If you find a "special" doc the sky's the limit but 99% of NHS doctors- and a fair few private ones- won't touch morphine ,pethidine, OC's, hydromorphone, buprenorphine, diamorphine, methadone, diconal or fentanyl except in A&E neck break/big car crash etc. situations, SEVERE illness, or for dying cancer patients in palliative care wards.
As for Vicodin it is not available in the UK, many people seem to think it is on this forum but unless a private doctor specifically orders it and has it compounded from scratch or imported with a Home Office license- think very rare, serious money- there is no way you'll get it. Ordering from an IOP is the best bet for hydrocodone products if you live outside US/Canada. |

Correct guess trannyboy, it is an International Online Pharmacy. (UTFSE, there has been another thread relating to OP's, NROP's etc.)
