Malaysia - Pharmaceuticals available in malaysia/indonesia?

Swim is off on holiday to malaysia and indonesia soon and although he is of course not thinking of taking any drugs there he is wondering if they have any interesting things available OTC (Benzo's, sedatives, anything interesting). Swim doesn't want to risk losing money by ordering meds online, and this would be a lower risk option for him.

Also- has anyone got experience of bribing pharmacy owners over there ?

In general there is less available in Malaysia than in the UK, and their drug laws are tougher too. I don't know about Indonesia though.

For example, Kratom is illegal in Malaysia even though it's grown there and often gets exported to the UK. That doesn't mean that you can't get it, but you need to go to the right places like most illegal things.

SWIY can always have a look around the "Farmasi" (the Bahasa Malasia name for the Pharmacy). There are plenty around in the shopping malls. The 7-11 or small Indian store might also have something, but it's less likely.

I'd tell that naughty chap not post anything that's not legal in the UK back, because that would be against the law. I'd also remind everyone else that we don't allow smuggling advice on this forum, so please don't let the thread drift in that direction.

ahem..pharmacies(drugstore) its "apotik" in indonesia,and the name for substance in indonesia ,obat-obatan,means medicines or drugs

laws in indonesia,here we have a saying,as long as you have golden bullets($),you can penetrate iron walls

you will get most pharmacueticals over the counter..
normally if you have difficulty,go see a doctor,pay him,he will write up pescription,after you explain your symptoms.
the illegal stuff you will also get,just the same way as any where else,but beware the laws are very different!!!!!
