If a pill gels up from attempting to be dissolved does it become inactive?

SWIM dosed on some poppy tea and wanted to throw some oxy in the mix but figured since morphine and codeine have profound adverse effects on the gastrointestinal tract (mainly absorbing food) that he would plug it.

Upon dissolving the OC in water he noticed that the pill clotted up into a gel like substance but plugged it anyways & noticed little if any effects of the pill.

SWIM wants to know whether or not the gelling up of the OC pill (which under ussual circumstances when added to poppy tea would have SWIM nodding his ass off with 20mg) renders the active ingredient (oxycodone) inactive?

SWIM is pissed considering he probably wasted 20mg of OC (not cheap) and had to pop an additional 7.5mg hydrocodone on top of his poppy tea preperation to feel good.
