CWE - Is caffeine the culprit for this nervousness/depression?
When swim does a CWE the effects he gets is this shitty sadness/nervousness/depression actually this may be what people call anxiety and this lasts for 2 hours tops then it wears off and swims left with happy opiate effects which last for about 3 or 4 hours afterwards.
Would swim be right in assuming that this anxiety is caused by the high dose of caffeine that comes with the codeine after a CWE? Swim doesn't mind much since the codeine outlasts the caffeine by about 4 hours but he still loses 2 hours of euphoria cuz of the shit caffeine effects. Is there anyway to reduce the effects of caffeine while retaining the effects of codeine? |

Re: CWE - Is caffeine the culprit for this nervousness/depression?
You would indeed be correct in suspecting this, unless there is some other factor in your life creating anxiety. Caffeine at high doses makes one unpleasantly "wired", being a xanthene molecule (similar to one found naturally in the body, but with CH3 groups added to three bonds in place of plain old hydrogen). which impairs the effect of adenosine- a chemical which promotes calmness and sleep.
Is there any way of getting codeine without caffeine? If you live in Canada it may be difficult, if in the UK simply choose a brand of co-codamol without caffeine (not Pro-pain, Veganin or Solpadeine Plus.) Solpadeine MAX is the best (12.8mg codeine and no caffeine per pill). |

Panadol Extra is paracetamol + caffeine, no codeine.
Panadol ULTRA (silver pack, behind the counter) is paracetamol + 12.8mg codeine with NO caffeine and probably the BEST product to CWE (less frequently used than nurofen plus, paramol, solpadeine/s plus/ s max- so not likely to get suspicious stares at the chemist- and also cheaper than most alternatives.) |

Re: CWE - Is caffeine the culprit for this nervousness/depression?
In Canada any codeine product with more than 8mg of codeine is RX-only and a controlled narcotic- and as this thread originally related to the negative effects of caffeine for CWE codeine users, I shall warn you T1's contain caffeine. This is because of a law that states there must be at least two non-narcotic active ingredients in any OTC opiate product.

Re: CWE - Is caffeine the culprit for this nervousness/depression?
Yeah the caffeine's annoying (yeah I'm canadian, damn T1s). I just pop a xanax though and it pretty much cancels out the caffeine completely, not to mention it combines with opiates pretty nicely, so it's a win-win. I have a legit prescription though. You can probably get one, but you say you don't normally have any anxiety issues. So if your plan is to fake it, you may need to do a little research. I don't know how easy it is to get a benzo script. I got mine pretty easily, but then again I do suffer from severe anxiety, and I'm sure my doctor picked up on that.
But yeah, benzos are what you're after. Good ol' xannies.. the stimulant killer. nferris added 3 Minutes and 13 Seconds later... SWIM seems to have forgotten the rules of this forum. Sorry, he's new. He jumped to edit his post right after but then realized that option is not available. So for the record, the above post was written by SWIM. I forgot to mention that
