Angry No focus, EVER

I was talking to this dude that was put on Adderall XR for ADHD. Pretty sure he's the inattentive type. Anyway, he said he started at 10mg XR, then got bumped up to 20mg XR.

He's less impulsive on it, acts a bit more his age, but he never gets the focus or energy. He isn't looking for a high. He said he tried regular oral doses, oral doses with the beads crushed, sublingual absorption, and insufflation, all with minimal effects. He's upped his dosage, trying to find that "therapeutic window", but all he gets is a diminished appetite and increased pulse. Half the time, it'll even make him feel tired. He doesn't want to go overboard and take too much though.

He's one frustrated motherfucker, and now I wonder what the deal is. He said he just wants to be able to get in the zone.

I browsed the forums, but all similar cases I found, the SWIY said that they were still able to get stuff done and be focused, but weren't getting the speed they wanted. But what if this guy isn't even getting the intended benefits?
