Depersonalization after tripping
Hi,
Swim has been dealing with depersonalization for a while now after a particularly intense and uncomfortable 2C-E trip (at only 12mg). He didn't really have issues until a couple days afterwards. Anyway, after the trip swim started to view his body as anybody else's body, and noticed significant sensory overstimulation. For instance, listening to music, looking at art, etc. was so intense that it was uncomfortable. The feeling of "happiness" no longer translated into actual happiness and wasn't a reason to keep living, leading him to worry about depression or psychosis. It seems like swim had issues reintegrating his experience, and that's been causing the depersonalization for over a month now. Any idea on how swim can fix his brain? |

Re: Depersonalization after tripping
Y never did 2ce but has had depersonalization as a kid.
He would feel strange, he can't quite describe it, as if things were some dream or altered consciousness. Y found that physically acknowledging himself in his body, at times like this, brought him back 'to-earth'. Has SWIM tried writing down what it is he is feeling? Getting it down on paper clarifies things, and makes space in the mind for more insights. It also alleviates some of the confusion the mind has when everything is whirring round in there. It also keeps things fresh, because, stored in the mind, things can get a bit blurry. Maybe when SWIM encounters uncomfortable feelings, he could write this down, for instance: "listening to music, looking at art, etc. was so intense that it was uncomfortable. The feeling of "happiness" no longer translated into actual happiness and wasn't a reason to keep living, leading him to worry about depression or psychosis." Could be transmuted to: "listening to music, looking at art, etc is intense, but highly inspiring. It brings allsorts of sensations, which are grist for the mill. The variance brings balance, and adds a richness to my experience" Translating any bad feelings into positive, to Y is important. It helps Y feel them. Y can somewhat udnerstand how SWIM feels, even though he hasn't done 2ce. He has done psychedelics, and while he is thankful for the experience, being the sensitive sort, Y finds the starkness and boldness, both barren, yet intrusive. He finds the world barren of any real love, as he finds it superficial (except nature) and he finds non-natural phenomena, and human fakery cringeworthy and overpowering. Y isnt being a snob, as he acknowledges he is a part of this. Someone with 2ce experience may come along, and give SWIM a more tailored post, from their experience, but meanwhile has SWIM looked at the 2ce experience reports on Erowid? |
