Comedown - nighmarish hangover from opium?

everytime swim uses an opiate, swim feels great during the actual buzz, but once it wears off swim feels totally "off". like everything in his world is .1 degrees different and nothing is normal. swim doesn't care about the nausea, or the constipation, but the surreal weather that blows into swim's climate is like being in a david lynch film...

swim had a great night using O friday (was with a female swiy he liked and in her presence got the feeling of a full body orgasm, though he didn't feel any sexual tension like he usually does), and while it was a great/interesting feeling, the day after always seems to outweigh whatever experience swim had.

does swiy get this general feeling of "out of place" once his last hit wears off? is the reason swim feels this rooted in phychology or chemistry? just wondering

The only way Swim doesn't get a hangover is with opium tea. Every other opiate he's tried (codeine and DHC) has given him a hangover.

It probably differs from person to person. SWIM knows people who never get hangovers from booze or drugs. It's maybe to do with individual brain chemistry as well as the drug.

SWIM does get a mildly "detached" feeling but never anything he finds adverse. SWIM agrees with the different brain chemistry, everyone is different and ends up with a different experience.

often times, the day after, SWIM has an overall "bummer" feeling for a good chunk of the day. similar (i imagine) to SWIyour .1 degree off. usually, it lasts for the better part of the day, but wears off early evening, and sleep comes easy. this is all assuming SWIM hasn't done it often enough to experience WD.

SWIM thinks that this probably has more to do with the stimulant properties of opiates, and it is more of not getting a peacful natural sleep. this in his opinion causes the next day sluggishness and very mild depression.

man i dont get this, it must be morphine derived opiates that do this because swim uses exclusively thebaine derived opiates (hydro, oxy) and tramadol and has NEVER had anything resembling a hangover even on a heavy night which for swim was 80mg hydro w/ almost no tolerance (back in the early days)

actually swim was thinking about how opiates are pretty much the only drug that dont have any sort of comedown or hangover.

if anything there is an "afterglow" leading into just normalcy.

however swim never use codeine, opium, and have only used morphine a handful of times, never really got anything out of morphine b/c of low oral bioavailability.

granted swim's had acute withdrawal symptoms the next morning which were basically nausea to the point of vomiting and cold sweats, but ironically they were actually enjoyable!
