Exogenous Hormones
SWIM was listening to a talk by the Shulgins at the 2006 Burning Man, and during the Q&A an audience member asked Shulgin about what he thought on the philosophy of drugs being exogenous hormones. SWIM has never really thought of it that way but it makes so much sense, it makes swim wonder why this isn't a more popular concept. Most animals produce all the hormones they require to grow as a species endogenously, and for the most part humans have these too. But Humans, becuase of their evolved intelligence levels, are able to introduce external hormones conciously into their bodies and mind. And this is what drugs are, hormones that nature placed for us in the external world, so when we are one day smart enough(today) we would introduce those hormones the ape body and grow as a species. Just wondering what others swimmer's thoughts are on this or any links with general info in regards to this concept.
