Health - HELP Emergency, overdose in codein forum

A guy in the UK has been posting in the codeine section. He has overdosed and is having trouble breathing. He hasn't responded to my instructions to call 911 or his local emergency number. If you are in the UK please call for help now. I am in canada and he may be dead before we can do anything over here. I have reported this but I don't know how long it will take for a response. If I don't get a response I am calling 911 but it may be too late. HELP

Uh.. calling 911 to report that some guy on a message board (who you don't know and don't know where he lives) seems like a bad idea.. if anything it's going to invite unwanted police attention onto YOU.

meh I am legal as they come. My doctor prescribes everything and I would rather talk to cops then watch a guy die. None the less it appears he is heading to the hospital now.

Still, making prank 911 calls is a serious crime. And if they feel your call was a prank (regardless of what your intentions are).. you could get in trouble for that.

Sorry to have had to post this thread. I was getting worried that he wasn't responding to instructions to go to the hospital and I didn't know if the forum staff are aware of the problem or would receive my reported post notice in time. As for me/ someone calling 911, the police are able to track IP addresses in an emergency like this, so I/ you don't need to know where they are. Unfortunately it takes about 20 minutes to track someone in an emergency plus any time for the ambulance to be dispatched from whatever local they are in. In that time things can be fatal. However I repeat that the person has stated they are on their way to the hospital. I hope they follow through but I have now done all I can do. As far as I am concerned my involvement is over. I hope the guy is alright though.

Also I have absolutely no fear of the police because I have not broken any laws in my country. One of the fringe benefits of keeping what I do above board. Take care and thanks for reading this. I would delete it but I don't know how to.

It's only a prank if I don't honestly believe there is a danger. Thankfully it didn't need to reach that point.

In addition all I would have to do is show the police his post and it would prove reasonable grounds. If it was a prank on his end then he would face the consequenses not me. Besides I have a good lawyer if it haunted me.

The police would first need to get the IP off the message board admin, and to do so they would need to go to court. Then they'd need to go to the ISP and get the personal details of whoever's on that IP.. again, they need to go to court.

The person's body would rot before they find it by tracing an IP.
