Adderall before fights??
SWIM's friend is a big guy, and has been in fights before in the past.. SWIM's friend uses adderall quite a bit.. one of the things SWIM's friend mentioned that before fights, SWIM's friend would always take adderall to get 'jacked' and 'pumped' proir to beatin someone;s ass.
Question here, has SWIY taken adderall before a fight? do SWIY feel all pumped up and shit?? |

Re: Adderall before fights??
Adderal makes people more alert and gives them more energy, so it would make sense that someone might fight better after taking it.

Re: Adderall before fights??
Adderall --> dopamine ---> endorphins ---> dulled pain
Yes, it would help. You're friend is also a dumbass for fighting that frequently. |

Re: Adderall before fights??
Swim wrestled in highschool, and was prescribed adderall. In his experience taking a moderate dose of adderall before a match helped performance mildly. It definitely gets one pumped, it feels like you could kick ass way better (for swim ymmv). This effect is psychological though, adderall doesn't make you any stronger or make you any more cardiovascularly fit. Using adderall before stressful activities could be dangerous under certain conditions so use caution. A teammate of swim's performed worse when he was under the influence of adderall, because he was a strong retard normally and adderall calmed him down.

Re: Adderall before fights??
In situations like this, high doses of amphetamine would be much more likely to cause overheating and heart problems. Fights tend to push one to the limit by their very nature, and combined with stimulants this could cause problems. Though in most cases, amphetamine would offer a psychological advantage, as well as maybe increasing endurance and reaction times. SWIM has never had more than microscopic amounts of amphetamine, but he does kickboxing and occasionally he has taken small amounts to help him wake up before training (only for training, he wouldn't do this for a tournament as he doesn't want to cheat), and it definitely makes him train better.
I don't know the intention behind posting this thread, but please don't take lots of adderall and start fights. |

Re: Adderall before fights??
SWIM feels this could be pretty dangerous for anyone who is not in decent physical shape. Any amphetamine + strenuous physical activity = potentially serious effects.

Re: Adderall before fights??
It would definitely give one an edge in a fight, but the only reasons to fight are
Self defense Defense of someone who can't defend themselves If someone ripped swiy off If someone has owed swiy a large amount of money for a long time and won't pay If someone steals swiy's girlfriend Recreational fighting, except in the context of sport (boxing, wrestling, MMA) is downright stupid and will earn swiy many enemies. |

Re: Adderall before fights??
Eyes: While I personally think going out to fight is damn stupid (i like my pretty face), I'll have to disagree with your last point. My friends used to live in a neighborhood where the local inhabitants had one of the strangest mating rituals I've ever witnessed (and I've seen the dare I say, out right pornographic mating dance of the Siberian Spotted Flamingo) Between the hours of 3-4 in the morning, after the males were quite tanked from visiting their preferred watering holes, they would randomly "hoot" quite loudly. If another male heard this, they would "hoot" back, and the two would follow each others calls until they were face to face. They would throw punches until one would establish dominance, and then they'd go off together in search of more refreshing beverages (and I suspect for more intimate forms of contact). Years later I would visit another nearby enclave near by where I would witness this sort of behavior in juvenile specimens. Male children between the ages of 8-13 would gather daily in the park where they would engage in normal play expected of specimens their age, but at least a few times a week they would inexplicably loose control of them selves and all jump at each other for a solid group beating until all were covered in blood. The strangest part of this behavior was the total lack of response from their parents. This went on for a whole season of study, almost 4 months. The same kids, every day. No one ever seemed concerned or attempted to interfere. One would suspect their mothers would be upset by the blood stains at the very least, no?
The mating habits of humans will never cease to amaze and confound me. ((added)) Oh yeah, uppers and exercise are risky, not STUPID risky, but not the best idea either. If you're going to, make sure you are well hydrated and not overheating. Still due to the erratic and highly stressful nature of the activity, it's probably not good. There is also the legal aspect to consider. If the cops show it's bad enough, but if they demand a body sample and you're found to be amped up on illegal chemicals, the charges are going to get worse, if there's a jury involved, it's not going to garner you any sympathy. The doktor had the chance to sample some pure coke a few years ago, like right off the boat, uncut stuff, that stuff made them feel like god, they felt invincible, and aggressive. They remember wandering around outside thinking "Man, kicking ass would be SO fun right now, All the asses would get kicked, no one would be left standing." Luckily the doktor realized how irrational and foolish this line of thought was and did not act on it. If nobody was ever pressed into battle, they'd want some marching powder to get them ready, and a low dose of LSD, but that's another discussion. From a historical perspective, chocolate was the first stimulant to be given to warriors. In the Aztec Empire, cacao was reserved for Royalty, warriors on campaign, and the Pochteca (a trader class that was given much social freedom). For the common man, it would only be on the eve of battle that they'd be allowed to drink The Food of the Gods. In WWII the bar of chocolate became a universal currency and bridge between languages for soldiers in foreign lands. Nestle developed a special bar of chocolate for the first Iraq war, one capable of withstanding searing desert heat while maintaining recognizable taste and texture. In modern time, speed is the back bone of a military. Since WWII amphetamine has been in the ration pack of every soldier in most major armies. It keeps soldier marching all through the night, makes them fearless, lets them shrug off wounds, and survive under conditions that may other wise be lethal. It also tends to drive people crazy as a result of blocking REM sleep. Even today, the militaries are always investigating new and improved stimulants to keep their soldiers vigilant and bloodthirsty. I'll see what I can find on the dosing used, but I suspect there's got to be some GI's around here who've some first hand experience. ((one more note to the Rep below)) Only in the most recreational sense of the word. Last edited by Potter; 16-04-2009 at 16:32. Reason: added lots of stuff and a little note |

Re: Adderall before fights??
Concur with the warnings on combining Adderall and strenuous physical activity.
Based on how the drug effects him, SWIM doesn't see it benefiting him in a fight. It makes his extremities very cold. Definitely seem more perceptible to pain. Then there's its psychological effects; Adderall makes him want to hug everybody! |

Re: Adderall before fights??
Swiy might put too much of a stress on his body with amphetamine, depending on dosage. Caffeine would be a much safer option.

I dont believe caffeine would give the same effects as this fellow is loking for. The main problems i see beside the fact it would be horrible for your heart is that id expect one to tire out easiy,or as someone else said that they run out of breth quicker on adderall, also grandma has noticed that being on adderal makes her clench her muscels harder that means that someone would not be as realxed and ready to dogde a punch or whenthey do take one they would be more riged and it would hurt more. Grandma finds that sometimes on large doses of LSD she has no fear and feels like she could kick anyones ass\ but then again my grandma is a bit senile. |

Re: Adderall before fights??
SWIM has gotten into further discussion on with SWIMs buddy on this, and SWIM buddy mentioned that doing coke before a fight was better feeling then adderall.. SWIM's friend mentioned that there have been times when that adrenaline spikes up on from fighting on Adderall, and SWIY's friend's heart will pound.. SWIY's friend has also gotten into one fight on Ecstacy and said he totally freaked out while rollin!

Re: Adderall before fights??
It might make you mind race faster and thus could potentiate any feelings of rage/hate kind of thing, but I'm fairly certain adderall makes you weaker as I used to be able to move some serious weight in the gym, and on adderall I usually seem to have to go five pounds lighter with dumbells and such on heavy doses.. then at times I feel like my heart's going to explode out of my chest, but it might have to do with my quality of rest and nutrition suffering a bit from the adderall rather than taking the pill beforehand, I don't know... it's a pretty stupid question, Adderall is hella gay, it's the cause of like 80% of all my health concerns and strange antics I've developed.

Re: Adderall before fights??
Adderral is a bad option in a fight. Usually in a fight there is enough (actually just the right amount) of natural adrenaline to kick in anyway. Adderral will increase strain on the heart. For performance related contact activities there are far better options in pharmaceuticals than Adderral!

Re: Adderall before fights??
SWIM has boxed on moderate doses of amphetamine. SWIM feels out of breath much quicker when boxing on amphetamine. Depending on the length of the fight and the situation, this can become quite an issue. SWIM prefers not to indulge in uppers before physical activity; especially competitive games with long periods of activity.
