fantastic night... did swim od?

last night swim fell asleep around 3 a.m. he had downed some poppy tea at 6 oclock and then again at 12:30 (slurry was only 3 pods and swim was having a great night so why not?) at 2:30 swim was nodding while watching a movie, but he noticed his breathing wasn't shallow or anything (he didn't feel logically concerned as it wasn't too depressed) then he wet to bed.

swim woke up w/ a mild headache still very glossy eyed. what are the odds swim stopped breathing last night?

Re: fantastic night... did swim od?

slim to none.

the after effects from tea or slurry can last well into the next day. So the glassy eyes are explained away there. The headache? perhaps thats just how really high dosages go for SWIyou? SWOM knows of others whom get a headache from it.

Peace

Re: fantastic night... did swim od?

it's wierd, swim does not feel any kind of draw toward opiates, like he may be a user of drugs, but he is really only curious and not looking for a permanant companion. not to be arrogant, but swim thinks he can keep using by spacing out his tea sessions further and further apart...

swim isn't afraid of addiction, just tolerance. maybe swim has great endorphins?

Then swim is a fool because only a fool is unafraid of addiction.

Re: fantastic night... did swim od?

Well that is definitely not the correct way to say that.

One should be well aware that addiction comes to those whom think they can avoid it. If one thinks that one can have any kind of opiates over a short period in a prolonged setting then one is mistaken. People do it for fun, finding they like it they do it a little more often thinking they have it under control. That control in most cases DOES go and people end up doing it more often, not because they WANT to (though they convince themselves that this is why) but because they have a deep seated need to.

As always be careful with Opiates.

Peace

Re: fantastic night... did swim od?

SWIM often "forgets to breathe" during sleep after returning to opiates after a break from them. It's pretty jarring, but she always wakes up when it happens. She suspects an underlying case of sleep apnea, which can be worsened by opiates.

To avoid this, she doesn't take opiates when she's feeling tired and usually takes them with a mild stimulant like caffeine to keep her awake, never mixing them with sedatives or depressants.

SWIYour headache was likely from dehydration or a histamine reaction...poppy tea seems to be really dehydrating, so drink plenty of water with it. Popping a Claritin or Zyrtec ahead of time can ease the allergic thing a lot if that's an issue.

I'm not gonna lecture you on addiction because it is what it is. Curiosity can lead to great things or terrible, life altering things depending on the person. Educating yourself about opiates/addiction is the best thing SWIY could possibly do--there's Google, tons of great books, and plenty of videos about the subject on Youtube and elsewhere. The more SWIY learns now, the less suffering will be incurred later.

Good luck and stay safe!

Re: fantastic night... did swim od?

Sounds like SWIY had a slight opiate hangover, which SWIM gets as well when he has nodded away a bit too much, but it is better than having a sickening tolerance which SWIM has also had experience of (especially with PPT). Much better to be on the left of the spectrum.

SWIY will know when one might be ODing because he will be pissing himself in fear rather than just having a relaxed urinary sphinctor. SWIM hasn't been more scared than just sitting up trying to keep himself awake with laboured breathing.
