Dose - What should SWIM do?

First of all swim would like to note that swim is diagnosed with ADD and has a prescription for concerta(54mg). swim used to have a prescription for straight methylphenidate tabs(10mgs), but as far as controlling swims add was concerned, swim needed something that would last longer, so he could focus all day. Thus, swim switched to concerta. Now, back when Swim was on the straight tabs, swim once insulfated 40mgs when swims tolerence was 20mgs oral. Swim found that the high was OK, but not very long lasting. swim has access too the 10mg methylphenidate tablets, and obviously the 54mg concerta but is unsure what would be a worthwhile dose for swims tolerence?

Right. Alza 54's are not ideal for nasal use (UTFSE to find out why) but they must be prepared for insufflation as follows:
Remove the coating with a razor blade and keep it (do not discard- it contains some of the drug.) You will see two layers. Keep the white layer (this is the methylphenidate) and get rid of the other one, which is a "push" designed to slowly release it throughout the day as part of the OROS (osmotic release.) Crush the white layer into a fine powder and insufflate. It may gel up in your nose due to the binders and fillers. You should get a reasonable high for a few hours- when it starts to decline put the conserved pill coating under your tongue and this will extend your pleasure.
Alternatively you could pop the 54mg pill as prescribed in the morning and insufflate one or two 10mg every four hours. Then you would have the base of Concerta all day- so no big crash- and the extra methylphenidate would provide a nice buzz. Skip the 10mgs insufflation before bed though, otherwise you may not sleep.
