Strong sedation followed by sickness

I'm new to the world of tobacco, and have only been smoking about 2 cigarettes a day for the past 3-4 days. Everytime I smoke, I feel SO sedated. I never hear reports about sedation with tobacco though.

Does anyone know why? Is it because I have no tolerance for it?

Also, today I smoked 2 at once and the sedation was almost doubled. It was followed by a feeling of sickness and lethargy about 10 minutes after the sedation ceased.

Anyone know why?

Re: Strong sedation followed by sickness

Not sure why the sedation, dizziness is due to suffocation (depriving the brain of oxygen)

Now I don't want to tell you how silly it is to smoke and how expensive bla bla bla

But when I was 13 I went into a shop and bought a packet (25) of camels cigarettes. As we all think no I won't get addicted, It won't happen to me......

Now I smoked for 17 years and at times I was on 80 a day, not joking ! But most of the time it was about 40 cigarettes or 25 grams of tobacco every day. Also had high blood pressure when I was 25 due to smoking and other things but mainly smoking.

Have tried nicotine patches a few times, read the Allan Carr book (the easy way to stop smoking) Been to one of Allan Carr's stop smoking sessions had to take a plane to get to the nearest one and spend that day £500. Had zyban tablets (brupropion) twice. Then had Champix (varenicline) and then had champix again before finally stopping !!! All those attempts to stop smoking is over 2 year period and had a few cold turkey tries too plus some chewing gum and other over the counter nicotine replacement products.

My advice is STOP while its still easy !!! Trust me on this one its a bugger to get of and the world for the smoker isn't getting any better. I can still remember that you could smoke in trains, busses, plains, etc...

I really found it hard to stop ! But finally managed to 11 months and 4 days now ! when I have stopped for 1 year am going to buy a bottle of champagne..

Its up to you but no one thinks when they have there first cig that they ending up to be a 40+ a day smoker. In the same way someone who smokes there first heroine doesn't think they will end up homeless. There are more examples but I think you can see what I mean.

ITS A BASTARD TO STOP ONCE YOU ADDICTED TO NICOTINE ! TRUST ME !

Anyway good luck to you with whatever you choose to do.

Re: Strong sedation followed by sickness

Swiy is just new to the nicotine buzz since swiy doesnt smoke that much the buzz is going to be heavy and though many people say tobacco is a stimulant its medically described as a depressant so swiy is going to get that kind of lethargic heavy headed dizzy feeling for a little bit but if swiy continues to smoke which isnt neccisarily the spiraling downward addiction that is described above (swim has smoked for 2 years now but almost never more than a pack and a half a week its all about self control) but swim actually recommends smoking its relaxing and in a week or so if swiy keeps smoking than they will feel less of the bad effects and more of the relaxing good feeling most smokers enjoy
