Experiences - Bad Trip? Temporary psychosis?

SWIM has been smoking for a few months now, and recently SWIM experienced some sort of strange trip. it was sort of an ego death(?) experience, in the sense that SWIM felt as if nothing really existed. purgatory. also accompanying this trip were some visual and mild auditory hallucinations. almost felt that the universe was ending? quickly passing though when SWIM got a sort of anchor on reality. even more recently, SWIM had a few beers and consumed more marijuana and felt a similar type trip. similar apocalyptic feelings accompanied with the hallucinations. unable to focus on several things at once, like a one track mind. SWIM has been very scared by this. however, the unifying factor with these two horrid experiences was that the day after both of those times, SWIM consumed more marijuana and felt none of those ill effects. how can SWIM know if there are going to be more trips and if there is a way to mentally combat these?

The axact same thing happens to SWIM sometimes. The reason SWIM gave up on weed. Not uncommon, the Jamaicans say "some people don't have head for ganja". SWIM would be careful as it can turn into full blown psychosis.

If SWIyou gets another one of these trips try some anxiolytic benzos (lorazepam, clonazepam etc..) they really help (at the dose prescribed from the doc, SWIM is not suggesting abuse...)

Some sources state that people prone to anxiety/psychotic symptoms from weed should be very careful with stronger dopamine raising drugs such as cocaine, meth, crack etc. as well as stronger hallucinogens like acid, salvia, mushrooms etc...
