Effects - Has anyone got really, really ill from smoking cannabis?

Most people have whitied out and thrown up at some point, but this is a whole new level. Last night squirrel picked up an eighth of fairly strong homegrown which he didn't even blaze half of; two small bong hits and one spliff, spaced out about 4-5 hours. All was well up to about half an hour after the last bong hit when Squirrel started getting ridiculously cold (in a warm room) shaking uncontrollably and sweating profusely. He threw up perhaps three times into his bin, and it was generally a very unpleasant experience.
It is now the next evening. Squirrel threw up multiple times in the morning, and whenever he's tried to stand up he passes out, meaning he has to crawl to the bathroom. He's been almost exclusively bedridden for the entire day, and can now sit up but it makes him feel queasy. He has only been able to stomach small amounts of fruit and water. He doesn't think he's been so unpleasantly ill before...
He's hoping that he just massively got ill which coincided with getting stoned, hence the particularly unpleasant evening last night. Has anyone else got ill for about 24 hours after smoking cannabis? He hopes he's better tomorrow...

Yes SWIM has, however later found out that it was laced with opium and SWIM smoked TOOOO much. hah.
so is it possible that SWIY's batch was laced with something that SWIY's body wasn't used to or ready for?

This would be my guess too. Either that or you just got sick. Dont believe weed will make you sick no matter how much you smoke.

I've observed the effects of an overdose of THC - yes, it's indeed possible to become sick from too much cannabis - and this sounds far too prolonged to be related. THC overdose is characterized by:

"nausea, vomiting, hacking cough, disturbances to heart rhythms, and numbness in the limbs."

The duration, severity, and symptoms you've described sound much more akin to food poisoning or a stomach virus. How do you feel now - back to normal? If you still feel any remnants whatsoever, I'd be fairly confident that it was unrelated to the cannabis due to the elimination of psychoactive compounds from the blood.
However, cannabinoids are characterized by an absurdly long half-life in the blood - it isn't impossible that the levels of bound cannabinoids summed up over time (due to tolerance) and generated a vomit reflex. If you have a high tolerance, then this would likely last for a long time because such a threshold for illness has been crossed already, and there will still be abundant cannabinoids present to render the symptoms persistent due to the long elimination half-life. This likely didn't occur, given your description of the time intervals characterizing the manifestation of symptoms.

Do you remember eating anything out-of-the-ordinary that evening? Sounds like typical food poisoning to me; severe symptoms for a short period of time that take a little while to be expressed subsequent to eating.

I'd guess it had little to do with cannabis. Sounds like SWIY had a 24hr bug.

All the food Squirrel ate was normal. He threw up again last night and this morning, now feels a bit better and is able to get out of bed and mope around the house.
Yes, he does have quite a high tolerance and is pretty much a daily smoker. Although he wouldn't normally think such symptoms could be brought on by cannabis alone he remembers feeling absolutely fine and then suddenly feeling very, very ill indeed after the last bong hit. Ah well, thanks for the input guys. He doubts it was laced in any way, as the supplier is reliable and he didn't feel ill effects when smoking it earlier in the night.

Did SWIM have an anxiety attack maybe?

SWIM had one of these. At least he thought.

For the rest of the night every time he stood up he would blackout and hit the floor. he also had to crawl everywhere. This lasted untill swim whent to bed, the next mourning he woke up fine.

Speed was used the day before, followed by 2 grams of highly potent mushrooms the next day, then he capped off his little 48 hour binge with a bowl of cannabis, that's when it all happened... right after he smoked the cannabis.

Clearly triggered by the cannabis, but doubts it would of happened if he had not done the speed and shrooms the day before.

This happened one more time to swim. This night he had been using cocaine, approximately 2 grams in a few hours, on the comedown he smoked a bowl of weed and it all started again. So it happens to swim only when bud is present, but only after harder drug use.

SWIY's sounds a little different than swims, but he had the same Blacking out when standing thingy as you did. Does anyone know what thats caused by? It scared swim a bit.

For Squirrel is was basically a hardcore version of a headrush where he wakes up on the floor, invariably with things hurting from banging them on the way down. My guess is that its a rush of blood to the head gone wrong...

For SWIM, if he smokes anything less than top notch exotics, he gets sick everytime. Like puking for hours on end sick. It has led to SWIM smoking on very rare occasions, which stinks because he enjoys it right up to the point where his day gets ruined.

SWIM smoked last night, and had a scary experience. 20 minutes after smoking, (not even a huge quantity of bud) she felt very dizzy and shaky and suddenly passed out, falling over banging her head on a grill. That night, she passed out 3 times. SWIM was kinda freaked out by this experience, and nothing like this has ever happened to her before.

Anyone know what was up with her?? By the way, smoked this morning and was fine... haha

One explanation is that SWIY being stoned covered up the symptoms, SWIM finds sometimes if he's ill he doesn't notice when he's stoned and only later when the effects start to ware off, so the cannabis could of held off the onset of the illness. Also SWIY could of been more careless when cooking/washing hands etc because of being stoned causing the illness.
