Hey all, swim was given two hits of acid
from a close friend. its always been legit before, but today tho is whack. the blotter is large which usually would indicate DOB or a RC.. but there is however a spot in the middle where it definitely seems to have absorbed, and not anywhere else. ![]() ![]() cell phone was all swim had. 2nd pic is next to a penny blotter is light green, spot in middle is darker green, with what looks like a ring around that. on the back, same color as the light "ring" on the front. moved close to a black light and managed to see spot on front glow white. same with the back. could it be just liquid acid dropped onto a blotter? (i know it sounds stupid) |

Re: Has Anyone EVER seen blotters like this? :S
bigbudd,
That doesn't look like LSD, unless the person dropping the blotters used a dirty/un-pure solvent for it that would leave a residue. Typically, no one should be able to easily see the drop of LSD on a piece of blotter paper - remember that the doses for LSD are in the micrograms, which is infinitesimally small. However - LSD has been known to take on a faint brownish or 'salmon' color over time. The conventional story here is: a 55-year-old sandoz LSD vial was opened on the 100th anniversary of Hoffman's birthday, characterized by similar colors to those on the photographed blotters (brown-sugarish appearance), with unnoticeable loss of potency. I've heard that LSD dissolved in either water or ethanol (the two most likely solvents) will indeed fluoresce under a blacklight. Never tried this test myself, so I can't speak to its efficacy. Assuming that it's correct, the fact that it's on a white piece of paper may help out in this regard; if the whole cube fluoresced, then the drop is potentially LSD. However, if the spot from the drop prevents a part of the piece of paper from fluorescing, or obstructs its glow - thereby not generating any fluorescence on its own - then it wont be LSD. Does anyone know if phenethylamines produce a similar glow? I've overheard some purely speculative conversations with some cohorts about generating LSA blotters by extracting and purifying a concentrated solution from hawaiian baby woodrose seeds. It would likely be impossible to avoid the co-extraction of some pigment/structural compounds, which would render the extract a brownish color. Though this is extremely unlikely in this case - this is the first time that I've ever seen blotter that made me think that people are actually trying to sell that wacky idea. I would stay on the skeptical side in your position. Always better to be safe than sorry, especially when it comes to extremely potent psychedelics. -G Last edited by Gradient; 16-04-2009 at 23:59. Re: Has Anyone EVER seen blotters like this? :S
thanks man. swim would definitely say it is
a "salmon" color. and the sheet is a green, and does NOT glow when exposed to a blacklight. only the spot in the middle glows white (front and back) also, the spot in the middle is about the exact size of a REGULAR blotter. any more ideas? |

Re: Has Anyone EVER seen blotters like this? :S
That's somewhat reassuring, I'd say. Of course, can't say for certain - no one here will be able to. I'd do a couple searches on whether phenethylamines like the DO's or other potent psychedelics also fluoresce just to be comfortably safe. I apologize, I just don't know enough chemically about why LSD fluoresces to make a definitive statement on this as a method of chemical identification.
Has the supplier sampled this product? Can that person make qualitative comments on the experience generated; was it approximate to an LSD experience and similar in effects, or more purely stimulating with no visual activity?- etc... If the supplier says something like "this was the most amazing acid trip ever" or "this was the altogether strangest trip ever" - then there is a high likelihood that it is something else. If the person says typical things like "it's a super smooth trip" or "this feels clean", or other completely subjective characteristics that would likely make the product more appealing to the average buyer - then the person is probably distributing average LSD. This has been the experience of a close group of friends, and of course isn't a foolproof mechanism of identifying compounds. -G Last edited by Gradient; 08-04-2009 at 05:34. Reason: typo |

SWIM believes she remembers hearing something about not eating the brown acid.
