Side effects - Sickness day after taking Dihydrocodeine

Last night SWIM took 200mg of Dihydrocodeine (5*40mg tabs) and had an amazing time. He then woke up this morning feeling incredibly sick and has been running back and forth to the bathroom all morning (hes been sick about 10 times in total so far). Is this just an opiate comedown? SWIM has to hand an important report into college this afternoon so is there anything SWIM can do to relieve the sickness? This was also SWIM's first time using opiates.

Swim gets a comedown from dihydrocodeine but not that bad and not the next day, swim has taken higher amounts then 200mg.

Has your swim taken anything else ? Or got a allergic reaction to codeine ? Has this happen before ?

My Dalek once took just over 400mg with some tolerance and had the same sort of morning SWIY described.

There is typically a limit the liver can convert codeine/ DHC into morphine maybe SWIY had a lower tollerance. My Dalek hears the limit is closer too 400mg though.

As for ways to relieve the sickness, My Dalek suggests you hydrate yourself. Other than that its difficult to keep any food down or such, so unfortuently ... SWIY has to take it.

Your post is not clear what is actually happening. Without accurate information of the symptoms we have no ways to answer your questions. However I will say this is why it is a bad idea to take anything new when you have important events in your life within the next day or two. Hopefully whatever is happening will resolve in time. Best of luck and if you post clarification I will do my best to answer your questions.

here in germany DHC (Dihydrocodeine) was a substitute for heroin in addict-
ion treatment, just like docs do it with methadone. as it was the cheapest
preparation the dhc was prepared by the pharmacist, who made a solution
of water, raspberry syrup and a preservative, containing 2.5-% dhc. the
most people tt
knows (including himself) had problems with the stomach while consuming
dhc. in the end the tyrant had to take the first dosage in the morning twice,
cause he puked a few minutes after swallowing the first one.

many opiates and opioides can cause sickness; it's a common side effect
of codeine and (especially?) dhc, as the substance has direct effect on
the stomach membranes in addition (did tt use the correct english in the last
sentence?)

Swim thought dihydrocodeine was a relatively inactive intermediate in the synth of dihydrocodeinone from codeine. Does swiy mean hydrocodone?

Dihydrocodeine is active compound, that is more potent than codeine (and unlike with codeine it is active by itself rather than needing to be metabolised into something else like morphine). In many countries it is available over the counter with paracetamol or ibuprofen in the same way that codeine is.

Would the UK be one of these countries? Swims getting this mixed up with something else he just looked up dihydrocodeine and it wasn't the intermediate he was thinking of. Swim was thinking of codeinone.

A well known painkiller (black box, behind the chemist's counter) contains 7.46mg of DHC with 500mg of paracetamol. Prescription pills contain up to 120mg of it and are roughly equal to a 15mg OC.

Dihydrocodeine (DF118) is a UK thing and is available as mentioned above OTC (paramol) and on prescription without paracetamol in 30mg IR and as 60, 90 and 120mg SR

Its used for a substitute to methadone for heroine withdrawal and as a pain killer back pain is the usual reason, but ask your Doctor for it and alarm bells starts ringing...

Swim had both IR and SR not from the Doctor.. And found the SR better but he got sometimes 60 or 80 DHC IR and had binges on them. At one point supply stopped and swim had to go true the classic opiate withdrawal.

a mate of the tyrant once had cold turkey after consuming DHC for 3 years, dosage
was about 1.000 - 1.500 mg per day. the tyrant never had seen someone suffering
that bad from opiate WD like this guy, who even couldn't stand up and get out of
his bed. the dad of the boy called the doc. the physician came into the scene, was
told what was going on and said "cold turkey is the best cure" and then he left.
the tyrant never had experienced DHC withdrawal, but was told by several people that
this was more painful than kicking off street heroin. in germany DHC was prescribed
to H addicts for a quite long time, some doctors prescribed 1.000 ml (one liter) of
the 2.5 % DHC syrup twice a month. that was like having 2.000 pills containing 25 mg
each. today it is scheduled and only prescribed if people are allergic to methadone
and for pain management of course.
