Drug info - THC and alcohol solubility

Hi Swims been researching and realizes THC is insoluble in water but will dissolve in fat and alcohol.

Now, Swim wanted to ask the more complex minded would this little experiment work when taken orally.


You put 2 shots of 40% alcohol in a cup. Take .5 - 1 grams of mid grade weed and grind it very finely down to a powder. Pour the powdered weed into the cup of alcohol and shake very well. Then pour this mixture through a coffee filter to get the unwanted powder out. After this is done, you and a friend each take a shot of the stuff and get high + drunk at the same time. Add quantity for more intoxication.

Would this work orjust be a waste? Please reply quickly as swim wants to try it.

This is usually referred to as "green dragon" and yes it does work, but you will want to let it sit for a while, up to a week, so as much thc as possible will be dissolved into the alcohol.

and THC is soluble in water, just not very, but it does increase with temp (a secondary reason to use cold bong water).
