TEK - purifying hawaiian baby woodrose

joe has just finished soaking 100 coffee grinded hawaiian baby woodrose seeds in 95% alcohol and is waiting for the extract to evaporate. he is considering doing something different than his last extracts and trying to basify it. joe has heard that an active dose of pure lsa is 2-5 mg, (but is not sure how valid this is) would this be refering to a freebase form? or just its salt form... anyway this is what joe is thinking to do...

1.grind 100 hbwr seeds

2.put the seed powder in an amount of the strongest alcohol possible . (around double the amount of seed powder in the glass jar)

3.leave for 48 hours stiring and shaking whenever there is a clear yellow layer of alcohol on the top.

4.filter out alcohol from the seed mush with a coffee filter of a sort, into a large baking dish (glass) and leave to evaporate in a low temperature, dark place.

this is what joe has done to recieve a yellow/brown powder which works quite well, but he also repeats 2,3,4 once.

5.once the very crude extract is gained basify an amount of distilled water to ph 8-9.

6.add the crude extract to the basified water and stir until it is disolved into the water.

7.add an equal part (to the water) of acetone or hydrocarbon (not sure which would work better) and shake the bottle gently for 3 minute periods every now and then. leave the two solvents together for a total of 1 day.

8.when both layers have clearly seperated (no emulshens) use a sepatory funnel to seperate the substances not discarding either, but the non-polar in one jar and the basifyed water back into the original jar and repeat step 7.

9.combine the 2 non-polar pulls and leave them to evaporate in a low temperature, dark place.

would this work to achieve better results maybe even a freebase lsa that would be active in the 5 mg range? please any experienced with chemistry reply to this as the alcohol is growing closer to evaporating.
