Ayahuasca's effect on sleep cycles

Ayahuasca appears to amplify slow-wave sleep - specifically stage 2 sleep, while it reduces REM sleep. This would suggest that the brew would inhibit one's ability to retain memories of the stage of sleep that has bee identified as the most vivid dreaming period, or at least affect the relationship between slow-wave sleep and REM sleep.
