Effects - LSD question: Capable of rational thought when tripping?

Hello All,


I have a few questions regarding LSD that I hope someone here can help with... First I want to know what your state of mind actually is while tripping... I know you're seeing colors etc but are you still capable of rational, normal thought? Are you still aware of reality as in what's real and what's the trip...How much control over your own mind do you have when on the trip?I'd like any info that anyone here could offer regarding these questions.

That depends on the dose, the amount that I take at a time and the duration of the intervals.On a normal dose of 25 to 50 micrograms at a time,with an interval of 4 hours, I am fully capable of normal, rational thought. I am also fully aware of what's real and what is not. When the total dose reaches 200 micro's all of the above becomes doubtfull.

Thanks you much for the answers! They're much appreciated!! That's good to know that ona lesser dose of LSD that we can be capable of normal and rational thought while still enjoying it... My next question is... So when getting LSDwe're able to actually ask for the amount of micrograms you want? I always figured ya got what ya got and that was that.

Basically you get what you get. Word of mouth is the best way to determine potency. Other than that just start with one dose and work your way up. DON'T BE A HERO. Everybody is different. 25 - 50 micros seems low but It depends on potency and personal tolerences. To me 200 - 400 micros produce a minimal trip for me, but acid is funny, it's very personal.


As far as rational thinking goes, I have always been able to tell reality from trip no matter how much I have taken, but the border lines become a bit blurred at higher doses. If you are not ready or accustomed to this sort of chem you can become easily confused. Just keep in mind that situations may become more complicated than they really are and now is not the time to deal with it.


Try to keep things as calm and simple as possible, and you should have a good time. If a problem should arise, just try to understand and deal with it as calmly as possible. And whenever dealing w/ the 5 - 0, always be as polite as possible, those people thrive on the respect that the uniform gives them so feed their ego.

Take a lower dose, that way you can 'control' what's important to you; afterit if you feel you could use some more, then do so.

First I do not look at LSD as some kind of 'border line' experience; possible border line could be when I no longer feel like tripping (usually happening with high dose, unadapted or boring surrounding, usually people I don't get along or fell frustrated by). In that situations the best (at lest for me) is to isolate myself and get the flow.


LSD is a drug who take off all those little 'lines and borders' afront you. For me, what you see on acid is what it is. Still, is useful to have a trusted friend near you who ain't to be onacid (it makes you more relax just knowing it).


You have to be positive you want to try, and be happy about it. Try using it during day time and in a place you feel conformable.


One more thing, you shouldn't be 'blurred' on acid, it just isn't lovable.

By blurred I do not mean that you are in some kind of dissociative state, I mean that some thing you may see out of the corner of your eye or something that may cross your path of vision may be misinterpreted as something other than what it may be. It is your responsibility to determine whether it was real or hallucination. Most rational people understand that they are under the influence of a very powerful drug and can determine whether things are realistic or if they are just having fun. Other ppl have a problem differentiating the two due to inexperience or the overwhelming mental effects of the drug. This is a very personal part of the experience. I have never had a problem with this from the 1st hit I took, others cannot wrap their mind around this experience (nor should they try) so they panic.


At any rate you should never assume you are thinking anywhere near being clear no matter how many life changing revelations you may have felt that you have experienced. You took acid for a reason, to f**k you up, and if you took it for any other reason you need to look elsewhere for your enlightenment or escape because it is not here. Acid is for fun, and should not be used for other purposes. Use it, enjoy it, party with it, but dont try to make it a religious experience or anything else because it is just a chem that effects your brain.


I love acid and think everybody should have the opportunity to experience it at least once in thier life. But remember, like Anarchist said, this is no border line experience, so get ready to have the time of your life. Enjoy

My question now is this and I hope it doesn't sound too ridiculous.... Can you actually halucenate "people" when on a trip? I mean can you literally see a person (or people etc..)who's not there.. Can you converse with them etc... I've often heard people mention seeing monster like creatures etc but I've always doubted them... Can you pass info on this?


Also... Can you describe the on set of the trip expirience... An example of how it all starts... The feelings... What you may have seen etc...

Yes, you can. But on high doses. It seems like you see people who are sleeping and are wondering around dreaming. Sometimes you can communicate with them. But that would go to far for me. Monsters and alike can appear when you are really far out there. To me hallucinations are symbols or manifestations of your subconscious, like dreams are. Explaining and prosessing issues that are important in your psyche. The higher you dose, the more vivid and overdone this symbol becomes. At some point it becomes hard to recognise the symbol and it becomes an bizarre almost uncomprehendable hallucination. Then I look at it as just an image of the mind. But as it likely is an issue blown out of proportion, it can feel very powerfull as the feeling of that issue can be blown out of proportion as well. Thus a little worry can create the end of the world. But at the same time, you can look a monster in the eye and laugh at it, realise that you are the creator of it and that you can make it do whatever you want, because you are imagening the monster.

Best trips for me have been in a controlled environment. Run of house or apartment(one that is pretty clean and has lots of light), good selection of music lined up, lots of colorful and interesting things to 'meditate on', always with trusted people.


Only problem is finding more to do it again. Once a year is not enough!

ummmmmm ive taken 3000-5000 micro doses and i never saw anything that was completely not there, best i got was when i couldnt see past 15 feet because it was a mesh like the back of a dollar bill print everywhere past that point. But still, not fake people or monsters.......give me some of that shit......

i'm doing lsd tomorrow and my buddy got it for me but he only got 2 tabs between 3 ppl do u think it will be enough to get ripped?

It depends on how good it is.


I've always hated it when there was never enough to go around and instead of screwing up a good thing, I always waited untill we either had enough to go around or we would just, as in your case, have waited until there was two of us or we had three tabs. Usually we looked around for that third tab.

I love acid, but here in Portugal is somewhat dificult to get good LSD.


In the new year's day I've gone to a trance party and drop some acid. My trip was awsome, and I even seen peopple that didnt exist. I was going to my car to rest a little, it was dark, and the only thing I see was the stars. I stopped to watch them, because it was very difficult to walk in those conditions. I could see anything, and only when someone passed me I could folloe him for some distance, then I had to stop again...


I even got, well, I dont know how to explain it, my english is not that great, but I will give it a try. I was looking for the stars, and when I tried to walk again, I could see anything, but this time because of the bright light that stayed in my eyes from the stars. I felt like I was looking to a powerfull light and then it turned off. I could see anything but a strong white.


I rested there a little, and when the surrounding turn normal again, I continued to the car. The path was inclined, and I needed to make an afort to go up. I was starting to get tired, when sudently someone was helping me walking, climbing that road. I looked at it, and the person disapeard. I looked the other way, and there it was, another person, in fact, I could see a lot of people, all of them trying to help me. I laugh a lot, because I knew that no one was there we me. Strange was the felling that I couldnt tell if those peopple were real or not. I kept saying to myself "They arent real, this is just because of LSD" but I couldnt believe ehat I was saying. The people who were helping me stopped and disapeared when I irrived to the end of the road, and some lights appeared!


This was very kewl!!
