Effects - Gutwrenching Nightmares from Opiates

I have had nightmares regularly all my life, but since starting opiates (poppy tea specifically), SWIM has had extremely vivid, emotional nightmares every night...

How many SWIYs know what I'm talking about? It's not like a "normal" nightmare in that there's more underlying emotion, even when the dreams themselves aren't particularly scary. You wake up traumatized and periodically think back about it for the rest of the day, and it can even affect your mood to some extent. Sometimes SWIM even feels physically sick in the dream and wakes up feeling sick for real. Very scary. I know nightmares are a normal side effect of some opiates and am not worried about it for any health reasons, just looking for personal experiences.

Does SWIY experience nightmares from opiates? How often and how does it affect SWIY's mood and life during waking hours? Do all opiates cause nightmares, or just a particular one or two?
