Health - Time to see the doctor?

Swims been on Ritalin for about 6 months now and he doesn't take it as prescribed he usually takes higher doses and snorts the stuff. Lately swims been getting persistent pains in his right side just below his ribcage. Swim think this might be his lungs. Swim also has a hernia and sometimes when hes on ritalin he gets insanely bad acid reflux and he toughs it out cuz he doesn't have any antacids but these internal pains seem to start after he has this bad acid reflux for a while.

Is swim alone in this matter or has anyone here had similar issues? Should swim just go to the doctor and get this shit checked?

SWIY's liver is located on the right side below the ribcage. To eliminate the possibly of it actually being liver inflammation, one should have a blood test to find out. This test is known as a Liver Function Test or LFT. Both ALT & AST enzymes should be checked. Sometimes when the liver is inflamed, one can physically feel it by touching ones right side directly in front of the lowest section of the rib cage with the tips of all four fingers and applying moderate pressure. Gastrointestinal pain is usually isolated in the center to lower abdominal region. This is not to say that it isn't gastrointestinal. A lung infection would usually be isolated in the chest area. A full physical with complete disclosure to the physician about ones reason for being concerned would be recommended and in ones best interest.

Ritalin tends to cause slight stomach pain when taken without food. swim has been taking it for 12 years as prescribed and occasionally suffers from nausea. swiy should definitely see a doctor if the pain is severe. swim has had liver problems in the past and since its such a fragile organ, swiy should deal with it as soon as possible.

The pains aren't severe at all and they go away once the Ritalin wears off. Swim gets paranoid when he's in his ritalin crash and always suspects the worst. At the same time though swim nearly died when he was about 15 because he mistook his acute appendisitis for trapped wind and went a day and a half before he realized it was something serious and the doctors told him if he'd left it another day he'd be dead haha so sometimes its better to be paranoid than naive.

Swim should also mention though that the stuff gives him mild asthma and pains in his upper thorax below the collar bone. The area in between your nipples and your shoulders. Both sides though so thats a sign that its something other than a liver problem. The ritalin definitely makes swims acid reflux problem worse. Last night it was so bad swim had to get more pillows to raise his head so the acid would flow back down into his stomach.It worked

Ritalin is a very unhealthy drug in swims opinion. It has some insanely positive effects on swim 7-8 hours after he takes it though. For about 4 hours he feels like he's on the verge of death then outta the blue these negative effects wear off and are replaced with the polar opposite. He becomes optimistic, euphoric and has this love of life that he only usually gets when he's off his head on MDMA, meth, opiates or other happy drugs. Is it worth the 4 hours of torture? Fuckin well worth it. Swim doesn't wanna cause any damage to his body or mind though so he thinks he better find an alternative to Ritalin. Swim realized that ADD is not very uncommon at all. Whenever swim suggests studying like mad to his friends they'll all say "ah I can't study" and swim knows that feeling all too well. Studying should be an enjoying task and it is for swim but only when he's in this euphoric period after that 4 hour torture session. Swim wants to help his friends but they don't believe him that drugs are a good tool for this kinda shit. Swims friends seem to have the impression that drugs are only to be used recreationally. What they don't get though is that drugs can make almost any task recreational haha. Shit sorry for all those off topic rambles swim got carried away.
