Injecting - Safety of IV hydroxyzine.

Anyone IV this med before? I understand its not a very fun drug,but that it could be used for those who are having bad trips.

from what my cat has read, there are preparations of hydroxyzine for oral ingestion, intramuscular or intravenous injection, but it's not meant for sub-cutaneous administration.

states: "hydroxyzine hydrochloride, 25 - 100 mgs, im or iv qid, frequantely relieves nausea and anxiety in addition to pain."


my cat is unsure of the viability of using an oral prep for iv administration, but the med itself appears to be a viable option for easing a bad trip, even if taken orally.
