It's okay , he's "cool"

when ever I hear people utter that phrase, I have to really wonder what they define as "cool" .

does it mean that person is not a cop, or an informant, does it mean he or she will not object to the use of substances for recreational use?

does it mean they won't spill beer in your car? will they say excuse me after a beer belch?

is cool the same as careful, as they will not hit the joint until they scan for police?

cool is it a verb or a noun? will it wear off, do you know how to get cool and keep it?

will it help to remind them stay cool? or do cool people all ready know they should?

And I guess if one doesnt know if a person is cool, you could always ask them, are you cool?

well are you? and dont lie when answering because that def would be " un-cool " .

Cowboy was busted by a so-called "cool" person, so being cool don't cut it with him. If he gets them funny feelings about a person, he will avoid him like the plague.

Re: It's okay , he's "cool"

I have found 'cool' to be very relative, and very rarely trust a person's judgment on 'coolness' unless I them to be 'extremely cool'

Re: It's okay , he's "cool"

"He's cool" is why SWIM quit dealing acid. Does anyone reffer to people as cool any more? Hasn't the lingo changed? Believe all the kiddies are using "He's tight" or some other such thing these days. SWIM has been feeling her age but trys to stay up on the "cool" thing to say. However there is nothing more uncool than grown ups trying to sound "cool" around the kiddies. LOL

Re: It's okay , he's "cool"

Heh, SWIM hears this too much in the local drug scene. For the most part, "cool" translates to sketchy as hell. Whenever someone says that, it is usually a bad idea to trust the allegedly "cool" person. Too much risk.

Agreed. "It's ok, he's cool" is usually met with "ok, let him be cool at his house, come by alone". SWIM loves to make new friends, but when it comes to the drug game, he prefers a few trusted partners that have been friends forever, and that's it. No random "cool" guys.

Re: It's okay , he's "cool"

IMHO, "cool" is not associative.

I trust my friend because I know him well, and he's "cool". But he may be stupid and think that the local supergrass is "cool". That doesn't mean I trust the supergrass.

So the definition of "cool" is down to the person themself, and they shouldn't take other people's word for it. Even if those other people are "cool".

Unless they're dealers, in that case, SWIM makes an exception and sticks around to see if they really are "cool"

But for the most time "cool" types just want free drugs, new hookups or to stab you for your wallet

Re: It's okay , he's "cool"

Swim doesn't believe in the "cool" thing when he gets introduced to someone by a friend his friend will tell him about that person (usually) prior to meeting him/her.

If its dealing related then in The Netherlands it was up to swim if he wanted to introduce someone to a dealer and the dealer would be happy with swims judgment and a new customer ! there were some exceptions to this as some of swims friends were "different" and he couldn't just introduce anyone (neither did he want to !)

Now swim is living on a small Island and things are more awkward here... Also the law is more harsh then in The Netherlands and its more of a community here. So swim couldn't just introduce new customers to a dealer..(he be hung LOL)

Think were there is more competition the dealers are more new customer friendly. And for swim he only got a few friends friends and lots of acquaintances, he chooses his friends wisely !
