Adding charges later?

SWIM was recently found unconscious in a car (see "GBL disaster" in this forum..)

I'd like to add on SWIMS behalf that some Diazepam (6 5mg tablets) were found in the vehicle, and when SWIMS wallet was searched, a further 10 were found.

Upon release from the station, the Valium found in the car was kept. The stuff found in the wallet was given back!! No questions asked.

SWIM is currently on bail for 'Driving while unfit through drugs'.

No mention of anything else..

Is is possible to add charges of possession later? SWIM acquired these Diazepam over the internet after some brief medical questions on a very nicely presented medical-looking website.

SWIM has no formal UK prescription.

----

I'd like to list a few things that happened during this ordeal that my friend told me about. Not sure whether they will help in SWIMs defence? Just interesting points.

1) After being found unconscious and having a seizure was told 'you're lucky to be alive' by a paramedic, was told (and I have looked up to confirm this) that someone found overdosed on GBL should be observed for 4 hours.

Not one person asked if SWIM felt okay, was just put into a bed and was discharged into police custardy from ER after only 2 hours.

2) Was told SWIM would have to speak to the resident psychiatrist because the state SWIM was found in (I guess it may have looked like a
suicide attempt) but guy was not around - so they didn't bother.

3) SWIM was asked to 'guess' SWIMs weight and height to help with the blood test results (ie, to work out how long ago the drug had been taken)

4) SWIM was told by the police "I don't know if you remember, but we arrested you in the ambulance". (!! ridiculous: SWIM was in and out of consiousness and could barely speak) an admission to taking the drug deliberatly was written down and SWIM signed.

5) SWIM was not offered anything to eat or drink (even water) in the ER or police station. Not sure if this was anything to do with the blood test, but..
SWIM went without anything for almost 10 hours

- from being found in car when SWIM then vomited *everything* at the side of the road!
- to 3 blood tests at ER
- to 2 large vials of blood taken at the police station hours later
- to final discharge from police.

SWIM was insanely thirsty! Dizzy through the whole experience.

The whole thing was a farce. They were obviously trying to follow some sort of routine but they missed so much stuff. For example - the police had to drive the car off the road, and to the nearest station - an empty bottle of Gin was in the cup holder in the car!!! (SWIM did not drink this, it was there to dispose of, SWIM stole it from SWIMS parents house a week previously, drank it, then replaced the theft - but had yet to dispose of the empty) It was not mentioned, it was not taken for evidence either, it was still in the car when SWIM picked it up the next day.

SWIM told me he realised the next day that during the police interview ALL the times that SWIM used, from accidentally ingested the chemical, leaving the house, eating lunch.. all times were completely wrong. SWIM thinks looks REALLY bad. But after suffering amnesia, seizure, unconsiousness, near-death experience and first time in hospital and a police station, no nutrition... I'm surprised SWIM could still see straight, let alone think.

The whole thing was such a shock. SWIM said during the day he wasn't resistive, wasn't aggressive, wasn't AT ALL bothered by anything, SWIM must have seemed SO nonchalant about everything. SWIM feels he was almost led through the motions and may have incriminated himself in all kinds of ways. When SWIM was asked what his job was at the police station he said with a completely straight face something like 'Childrens Entertainer' (SWIMS real job is listed in the GBL disaster thread). Which they entered into the computer.
