A comparison of different benzodiazepine equivalent dose lists.
I came across the following table at some unnameable place, and thought it worthy of a thread on here, as it shows clearly there is no agreed definition of equivalence. The table is presented in the "usual" way, i.e. the dose given is the equivalent to 10mg of diazepam. The columns represent individual sources of "equivalence". So for instance the column second from the left is the Ashton "equivalence" and so on. Notice the large discrepancies.

Re: A comparison of different benzodiazepine equivalent dose lists.
The diagram does offer alot of conflicting dosage differences. Is there a specific reason for this such as that each one has differing effects, for example how sedating one is??? Just curious. Thanks and best wishes dickon

great to see something like this. The only other one swim's seen was for opiates. Definitly gives swim some good reference points when experimenting with a new chemical!

Other factors have to be pointed out also, like the manufacture of the pill. One type can be more effective than the other. generic is less potent than brand name most of the time.

The Clonazepam (which SWIM has) doses seem to vary considerably-from 0.5mg to 4mg. Is it generally considered to be stronger or weaker than Lorazepam/Alprazolam say? |

Could SWIY elaborate? Not sure SWIM understands. |

Re: A comparison of different benzodiazepine equivalent dose lists.
well, swim can now see why people say that clonazepam and alprazolam are the same when it come to potency. you see alprazolam it just hits swimy then its gone maybe with a black out or two, that is caused by its short half life. Very good only for when panic attack that about to happen or just happen and siwy can take some sublingual . Clonazepam never had black out, never say never, but then again swim has not taken more than 2 good MG of it. it comes soflty on for swim, and stay with swim for a good while, again due to its long half life. All with the same feeling of alprazolam, more than less.
