Best Smoking Blend for SWIM?

SWIM is on 35ml Methadone, 40mg Paroxetine/Seroxat, 5mg Olanzapine and 15mg Zopiclone. He gave up smoking cannabis after roughly 11 years of daily usage about a year ago. Since then he has smoked some Spice/Spice Gold which was several months old, but no Cannabis.
Basically he would like to find a smoking blend which he can smoke from time to time, particularly when he is feeling anxious, depressed or both, and to give his methadone a bit of a kick.
He has smoked quite a bit of Spice, particularly when he was still smoking dope daily, but often finds that it can have unpleasant side-effects for him, possibly due to interaction with his psychiatric medication. He now knows that it does contain synthetic cannabinoids which may also be a reason that he sometimes feels strange side-effects from it. These can range from paranoia, increased anxiety to actually feeling strange physically as well, particularly when lying in bed at night having smoked it some time previously.
He may well try this blend again, to see if he handles it any better now, but can anyone recommend any of the plethora of other blends which could potentially be more pleasant for SWIM, or which simply produce a more pleasant buzz than Spice. He knows there are dozens of other similar products nowadays but has no experience with them, apart from Sweetbush and Durban Haze which he tried a couple of years ago, and found somewhat milder.
He would really like to find one that works well, but is more calming than trippy.
