Question SWIM doesn't know if alcohol tonight would be ok (after diazepam)...

SWIM took 40mgs valium (diazepam) between 5 and 6pm yesterday and was intending to go out tonight to a club with some friends. SWIM doesn't know, however, whether or not this is a good idea as the intention would be to get drunk and SWIM doesn't know how long the valium, with no tolerance, would continue to have a major affect on his system? SWIM is roughly 15 stone and a 20 yo male, and if he went out tonight it would be roughly 30 hours since he took the valium when he started drinking. SWIM doesn't want to risk another blackout (he drank and had ketamine last night, and it happened).

I wouldn't think that the valium presents much of a risk a thirty hours after dosing. The risk with combining alcohol and valium tends to assert itself whilst under its immediate effects i.e. taking a dose and proceeding to drink heavily possibly leading to vomiting in one's sleep or the like. Just don't drink too heavily and don't combine alcohol with anything else. Booze is an absolute bitch of a thing when it comes to combinations. Nothing works well with it unless you're dealing with very low doses.

30 hours is more than enough time for the effects of the valium to wear off. SWIY shouldn't have anything to worry about. Just to be safe start out drinking a little bit slow, don't kick the night off with shots or anything, but really after 30 hours there should be no effects from the valium to worry about combining with alcohol.
