Classic old footage of Dr Shulgin talking about when he discovered MDMA for the first time, followed by some commentary by Dr Charles Grob about the first clinical trials into MDMA's theraputic effects. They give a test subject 80mg of MDMA and record the effects on him.

I'm quote surprised that Shulgin only used 80mg, and also the test subject in the video. From swims personal experience, 80mg is a barely noticeable effect. About double this, to a maximum of 220/250mg is swims normal dosgae. Do others agree with this?

I also wonder how Dr Grob got the MDMA he used in the test. I suppose since it was sanctioned by the govenment the people who synthed the MDMA for the test were able to get really pure chemicals to make it, and end up with a very high purity MDMA. MAybe this is why just 80mg still seemed to have all of MDMA's usual effects. Or maybe Swims just naturally tollerant.

It's amazing Merck patented MDMA in 1914. Can you immagion what it could had have done had it escaped back in 1914. Maybe we americans wouldn't be the closed minded, uptight, prude bastards we are now. You can see a copy of the expired patent at the link below.

I know! Nearly at the same time when the drug Alcohol was legalised too. Imagine a world where the legal drugs were MDMA and LSD, and more harmful drugs like tobacoo and things were illegal? I think the world would be SUCH a more peaceful place. All poloticians need some MDMA therapy in my opionion.

Some idealists and businessmen tried to put MDMA onto the (black) market
in the - i think early 1970ies - but people didn't like the effects that much.
though one could do many things on MDMA, from psychotherapist session
to walking through nature, it's quite hard side effects made it the perfect
drug for the techno scene, overdosed from 100 mg up to 150 mg.

My friend believes that as this was(one assumes) pharmaceutical grade MDMA the dosage was so low (lower than my friend has ever used apart from her first time).
Also we don't know if this patient has taken before and at what dosages.
A very interesting clip, just re-enforcing that most of our illegal chemicals are so less dangerous than good old alcohol.
