switching from pills to poppy tea?

so my fish's connects for norcos, oc, percs, etc have dried up and he is going to try making poppy tea instead to get his opiate fix. has anyone else made this transition? what is it like? will my fish still be able to accomplish all the things he could on norcos with tea? will he feel the same energy/euphoria?

just cuirious because he is getting some poppies soon but has never tried. he is going to make tea based on what he has read here
