banana skin??

this may sound like a stupid question,but i'm not really as big smoker so I was wondering if anyone could help.. I've heard that if you line your joints with the peelings from a banana skin it gets you really high. Does anyone else have info as to whether this is true or not? if true.. what are the effects? how much and what part of the banana skin is used?

Has anyone ACTUALLY smoked a Banana Peel?


I have heard this "smoke a banana peel" thing for years. What I haven't heard is ANYONE who has actually attempted it. For all I know, it may work. Who knows?? It may be the best pot-intensity-increaser in the World.


Don't get me wrong ... I do Not want to be the scientist here, but I do want to point out that none of the Post-ers has done this either.


It's funny in life, when someone thinks that something is so, he does not need any proof: It just IS true. It doesn't matter if it isn't true, because I KNOW that it's true.

Most definitely a myth, unless you consider the carbon monoxide buzz worth the trouble. Try this instead, smoke some regular marijuana & then eat a couple bananas, not only good for you but bananas are pretty tasty if you catch 'em at just the right ripeness. Edited by: Nicaine

I've tried it...there's another thread on this somewhere. I think
there's actually a chemical in it that is supposedly somewhat
pyschoactive but not much, which was the starting point of the
myth. I can't remember.

Sad to say I tried it many years ago. It had an effect-- I got nauseous and stopped smoking it.

Yes I have heard of others saying they tried smoking the deadly bananas. From what i have heard there is nothing beyond the slight lite headed buzz you would get from smoking just about any plant material.

Dude in High School my buddy smoked banana peels (seriously not swim it really was someone who isn't me) on a semi-regular basis for a while whenever we ran out of weed. He swore that he had blotched vision and felt giddy, but noone else in our group of 7 felt a thing. He'd go into 7-11 late at night, buy a banana then throwthe fruitout and stick the peel into the microwave until it was crispy and then smoke it. He typically wouldn't be back allowed in whatever Sev it was because of the smell that it creates. Anyways, me and the other 5 are with Nicaine - Carbon Monoxide all the way. That dude also got high from a gravity bong of nutmeg.
