Effects - Codeines effect on sex drive?

I have recently discovered that codeine has, even in small legal amounts like 20mg, a massive effect on my sex drive. If I take it sex crosses my mind only a few times in a day (which is saying ALOT cos Im 18). I can still get hard whenever I want but it doesnt happen involuntarily. It basically clears my mind of sex for 1-3days depending on how much I take, which leaves me to concentrate on other stuff like study. What I would like to know is: Does this happen to everyone who takes codeine or is it unusual?? And also is this a recipe for erectile dysfunction when im old, or would the effects be definately just temporary?

This does happen to some people, mostly because with slightly numbed nerves. It is also easier to last longer during sex since your nerves are numbed. And no, I would not imagine that it would cause for erectile dysfunction or long term effects, the only time that it affects SWIY is while SWIY is actually on it.

Yes opiates in general lower your libido; Opiate misuse can lead to full time problems such as impotence, inability in attaining an orgasm and it’s even been claimed opiate withdrawals can cause priapism.
The above are worse case scenarios and the majority of people experience symptoms similar to your good self, some people actually benefit from the short term dulling effect that opiates cause, it can stop them prematurely reaching a climax, increasing there ability to perform.
