SWIM always here's about how dangerous it is to mix opiates with benzo's.

but my dog just took 400mg of Codeine with 50mg of Dipenhydramine and 2mg of Alprazolam and is feeling great!

whats the problem here?

overdoing it is the problem. It can very easily make your dog stop breathing. It is better to have people approach it with caution and then come and tell their experience about it then try it without warning and not be able to post an experience report if you catch my drift.

I suppose so....the thing is SWIM has mixed as much as 50mg of pure oxycodone with several mg of either lorazopam or alprazolam without problems.

now mixing benzo's with alcohol....that another story entirely. without some coke or speed to balance it all out...it can be problematic.

With lower to medium doses of both benzos and opiates, a great experience can be had, but for things like this utmost caution is needed. When you start pushing the limits or getting tolerances, then you add more uncertainty and take a much bigger risk. The codeine dose seems a little high to me, but with such a weak opiate it might not be such an issue (and I don't know if you have tolerance), but you should definitely try and stick to 2mg alprozolam.

SWIM would never even think about mixing benzos + alcohol + cocaine/amphetamine.

With things like this tolerance is always the greatest issue. If SWIY has a high tolerance to both then it is less likely that they will overdose; however, SWIM has had 3 friends OD in the last 6 months, two of them died, and all of them were using OC and xanax. So ALWAYS be careful when mixing downers. It is one of the easiest ways to overdose on accident.

swim took hydrocodone + promethazine + alcohol + temazepam (all downers) one night.. swim's still alive

edit: oh yah.. also cimetidine as a potentiator.

You might still be alive, but you are very lucky that that is the case. That was a reckless thing to do, and it kind of looks as if you are promoting such things. Please don't do that again.

Mixing benzos and opiates is OK as long as you take low doses of the benzo and have previous experience with even lower doses.

Swim finds that combining Valium (5mg) + ~200mg of codeine is a lot better than just the codeine since the valium takes away most of the side effects from the caffeine.

Not all benzos are suitable though, at least in swims experience.When he combined it with clonazepam (0.8mg) instead, he didn't enjoy it at all since the clonazepam feeling covered anything the codeine did and swim could barely feel it...
