Opiates/Opiods PLUS SSRIs
SWIM has been taken Cipralex which is the Canadian version of Lexapro. And like most SSRI's it severely reduces the effect of codeine....withou going into too much pharamacology mumbo-jumbo it does this because of the pathway in the liver which metabolizes codeine is inhibited by the anti-depressant.
But SWIM has also noticed the SRRI severly weakens the effects of oxycodone and hydrocodone. In fact, the only opiod which seems to be uneffected by the cipralex is Demerol or Meperidine. SWIM is curious to which other opiates/opiods wont be effected by a SSRI. |
