Side effects - help with tics (side effect of ritalin)?

whenever swim takes ritalin or amphetamines for recreational purposes, swim gets these rly bad tics

for example, one tic is biting his lip, another is cracking his knuckles, another is taking weird deep breathes

the only ones which rly bother him are biting his lip, because swim gets red marks on his lip, and taking weird deep breathes cus it looks and sounds funny plus if he does it too much it can make his throat sore

any ideas?

shot in the dark here, but maybe meletonin or benedryl?
