Ukrainian Marlboro Reds (bought online)

I am assuming since I am of legal age and tobacco is legal that it is alright to refer to myself in these posts (mods please inform me if this in not acceptable).

Anyways, I am a spirited smoker of the popular Marlboro Red brand. Usually about a pack a day, well with prices going through the roof already in my state I investigated purchasing them online. I was worried that being made in Ukraine they would be cheaper (since I paid about a 1/3 of the price of a normal carton) in quality and flavor. So here is my review after having smoked more than a pack of these foreign cigarettes.

American Marlboro Red:
My preferred cigarette, I have tried many different brands and kinds and always found myself still smoking these. Notable was the unpleasant after-taste and the obvious chemical flavoring, but little else on the market puts me on my ass all day long like these things.

Ukrainian Marlboro Reds:
A much more enjoyable smoke. They are slightly longer, not fire safe (which is all you can get in my state), and in my opinion an all-around better smoke. The tobacco actually tastes like a higher-class tobacco and does not feel diluted by chemicals. My first smoke in the morning is typically marked by a tickle in my throat, nausea, and drinking water to get the taste out of my mouth. Not so with these. The tickle in my throat i gone, no longer do I find myself reaching for a bottle of water while still smoking. However, note that these are NOT for the faint of lung. These things put me on my ass worse than any cigarette I have ever had.

Conclusion:
I found myself with an open pack of American and an unopened pack of Ukrainian. I took the time to pack down and open the Ukrainian cigarettes because they are stronger in the buzz but less harsh on taste (although the taste is still strong, the strong taste actually is an enjoyable one). I will be buying these again because they are both cheaper and better, smoke one of each back-to-back and the American makes you feel as if you are going to die from pollution in your lungs while the Ukrainian actually had me enjoying my cigarette rather than just smoking it to kill my craving. I can't wait to have one of these Ukrainians after a few beers, it will buzz me more and leave a desirable taste in my mouth afterwards. I can't believe these things are actually cheaper!

Yeah, SWIY might want to reconsider that incrimination thing. Buying smokes from shady sources to avoid taxes is illegal. There's a reason why every pack of smokes has a State stamp and is numbered.

No, it is a completely legal process. All of their products are shipped to the US and many people I know have used this same business to get their hands on cheaper smokes. All taxes are paid, just these cigarettes are bought on the internet so only federal taxes apply and that is one reason why they are so much cheaper.

Re: Ukrainian Marlboro Reds (bought online)

Swim bought two cartons of camel unfiltered online last summer that came from Moldova. Swim was happy with the quality of the cigs, but because he lived in Canada he had to pay customs duties on them, so the cost was only a little less than what swim would pay if he bought cigs made in Canada.

They were weak for an unfiltered cig, only around 11 mg tar and 1.0 mg of nicotine, but they had a nice flavour to them and they weren't harsh at all.

Re: Ukrainian Marlboro Reds (bought online)

One is SUPPOSED to pay US State taxes as well. And a few States have started to go after purchasers and hit them with past due taxes, fines, and penalties amounting to tens of thousands of dollars/person.

Thinking you might save a bit now might end up costing much, much more in the future.

Personally SWIM is starting a small tobacco garden this summer. There are excellent directions online and available books on how to do this and make one's own home kiln for drying(quite easy really).

One doesn't need a lot of space to grow enough tobacco to supply their own habit. Plus, making it yourself you have quality control, not added carcinigens, and there's oodles of naturals flavors, MYO, RYO tools and accessories out there nowadays.

AND one doesn't have to worry about the narco-State terrorists coming after you for long-over due taxes this way.
