Hi, I was just wondering if anyone out there knows if freezing nutmeg will change its effects at all?

What I've done is freeze it into swallowable capsules, because I hate the taste...

Freezing it would most likely not change the taste. An extraction could
possibly change the taste, however not if the taste is created by the
desired chemicals. I don't know too much about the active constituents
in nutmeg, however if I were you I would research it to make sure that
you have not inadvertantly weakened your nutmeg through the freezing
process.

As my question asked. And of course freezing it won't change the taste.
It's just nice to not have it sticking to your mouth

Will nutmeg even freeze? Wouldn't it have to be a liquid to freeze, or

would it just get really cold?

The one time that I have tried nutmeg I don't think that I took enough.

According to a e-mail from erowid
a href="http://www.erowid.org/plants/nutmeg/nutmeg_info1.shtml" target="_blank">click
here</a>) putting the nutmeg in a frozen drink was recommended,
however in the same page it says to keep it by itself. The reason is
due to the fact that mixing it with anything only brings out the
flavor. I hope this helps.

Thanks enigmatic.

I'm unsure if actual solid powder nutmeg would freeze, I mixed it with
a little water, which worked perfectly well. made a sludge which then
froze into solid pieces.

I have since tried it [25 g] but to no effect.
