Opinions - Hydrocodone cut-off... now what?

Hi all, first time poster here.

Some guy I know, but not really has been taking Hyrdocodone 10/500 for a few years now for severe TMD pain as prescribed by his dentist back home (in another state). recently he had another set of refills called in when the pharmacist at a store the sounds a little like "Ball-Queen's" blew the whistle on the whole thing. now this guy's been cut off

mouth pain, chills, etc. now...

he tried weening with the last refill by introducing the ever useless Ibuprofen (RX strength) but was still in mucho pain. he has have since tried other methods like poppy pod tea, (stressful in itself having to order that stuff off of Ebay) only to find it gives him muscle cramping/stiffness and a horrible head and neck ache instead of the supposed euphoric & pain relieving effects. He's even more paranoid about the aspect of ordering from an online pharm, since the only legit ones require info from a doc and could land him into trouble. He got the hint that the doc wanted to be rid of him & his problem so doc wouldn't have to keep writing RX's for a schedule 3, and the pharmacist was a perfect out.
