Effects - Codeine users: How does it compare to oxy?

SWIM is a huge opiate fan and does lots of oxycodone (percs, roxi, oxys..)

I would imagine the codeine high is fairly similar, amirite?

SWIM's currently googling dosing;

30-50mg of oxycodone is niiiice for SWIM, he's trying to find a good codeine dose

Well, two things. First, it depends on how SWIY is used to ingesting oxycodone. Second, regardless of how SWIY ingests it, the dosage of codeine that would be necessary to feel similar to 50mg of oxycodone would be exponentially higher. Oxycodone is MUCH stronger per milligram than codeine is.

Swim finds 250 mg of codiene to be the perfect dose, and would compare it to 25-35mg of oxy. You cant snort codiene though....

Hmmm, why not?

I read your post then did a little research and keep seeing that it's because it's needs to be metabolized by the liver, but i took a psychopharmacology course and learned that all of the other drugs like cocaine and meth that are snorted are metabolized by the liver

The reason SWIM would say not to is because nearly all codeine is mixed with a filler such as acetaminophen, which people usually try to avoid snorting. If SWIY snorted codeine/acetaminophen, their nose would be clogged before they did nearly enough to get high.

A simple cold water extraction can be done to separate the acetaminophen and codeine. The codeine/water solution can then be evaporated, leaving behind only the codeine. Codeine in this form can be snorted.

Swim has never done this but has heard of people doing this. As such, he cannot verify 100% that it works.

Nope, there's still ~ 10 - 15 mg / ml of apap. That's a lot of crap left over.

In my experience codeine is nothing like oxy, its too weak to do anything to serious opiate users. Oxy is kinda like Heroin, in fact here in Australia we call it "hillbilly heroin" on account of it feeling so similar to Heroin. Codeine on the other hand only provides a small high to non tolerant people but to anyone who's been in the game a few years codeine is like paretetamol, useless.

the tyrant agrees with Naked Lunch. If you are lucky, you might be one of
the little percentage of users that get more than 10 % morphine from
the swallowed and metabolized Codeine. Some caucasians even can't
metabolize codeine into morphine because of something being wrong with
their enzyme production.

While Oxycodone is a very euphoric Opioide, Codeine is a soft one that is
ok for beginners or those who want to stay with a not-so-potent opiate,
which is not too bad to do as it gives a nice buzz to non tolerant users
but isn't as addictive/seductive as the "harder" stuff.

But almost every junkie who is on day two of cold turkey of course won't
despise two or three blisters of the 30 mg perduretas

True, swim has CWE 100X pills to get codeine when swim was in withdrawal, the problem is that it only just holds you for about an hour. Its better than nothing when one is sick but its still a long shot from being satisfied.

I would not recommend any form of codeine for an oxycodone user, Oxy is +/- 15 times more potent so the equivalent dose is >500mg, sounds excessive unless you have no access to a stronger opiate. If you can get T4's (CWE on 8-10 of them) or pure codeine powder it might be worth it, but the euphoria is much less than Oxy and it's really useless for anyone but Opiate newbies and people in mild to moderate pain.
